yep. i used to work with embedded systems for telecommunications and they were pretty much all linux. I don’t use it at home, but thats cos i’m a gamer. if i was just going online and checking emails i probably would use it as its runs so good on old hardware
I would imagine Windows 12 will start seeing more AI crap, being implemented throughout the operating system. Co-pilot is an inefficitve toilet wipe, but i make use of it in rare circumstances when my brain does not want to think.
Windows 11 already has a truckload of AI in it. Hence the switch to Windows 10 for a month
It will get worse in Windows 12 though. haha. I use Windows 10 on my domain network in my virtual machine alot, (no internet connection, just locally). Windows 11 is just a lipstick on a pig.
I’ve switched to macOS, and will only touch Windows now for gaming.
It has been amazing to me how much i prefer to Mac Os for my uni studies, creative writing and photoshop work (personal hobby) and to do some gneral other stuff. my windows laptop is just now used for virtual machines for my servers and client machines, and steam gaming - in particular i am playing the Life is strange series and GTA 5.
Did I mention here that I moved to Victoria about 8 months ago doing a degree in Criminology at Deakin. I was living in Waurn Ponds for 8 months, before the student accomodation and the church decided to sell the business and focus their efforts in the melbourne cbd, so naturally around october had to find a place. Found one in Box Hill South. I miss the area i was living at, i made great friends, attended some church stuff and generally had a great time, but Box Hill is great though. 10 minute walk to Deakin Burwood, access to public transport with buses and trams, and can either go to Box Hill , Doncaster and Chadstone for shopping needs.
Have recently gone up in the hills and did a nice bus ride in the hills (being among the trees and out of hte sun ![]()
Flat mates are great, we usually catch up with eachother once every few days, because we are so busy and well with my studies and my own sak efor my mental health, I’m always exploring the outer suburbs of melbourne and areas that I have never been before.
This will be first christmas without family back in perth, but thank god we can do whats app video on christmas night. Spoke to parents last night and perth is going to be 40 degrees!, Thankfully ill be in the nice melbourne cold weather rugging up in a couple jackets
or watching old AFL Matches.
Am going back home Perth in late february to visit family for 10 for my mums birthday week to catch up with family and friends. So i am looking forward to that ![]()
I have a part time cleaning position starting early next year for Queensland Eating Disorders clinic,it’s about 10 -15 kms from home,I can get there easily on public transport ,short walk to the nearest train station, but I would have to catch 2 trains as it’s a different line.It might be quicker to drive. This clinic is in an old house so I’ll be cleaning the office ,bathrooms and kitchen areas,3 days a week, altogether 8 hours per week. Not too large an area to clean and the staff member from this clubhouse will be with me for the 1st 2 weeks. As I’ll be working for QLD Health I have to be vaccinated for hepatitis, tetanus and shingles,I’ve had 2 vaccines so far.I’ve had to have a blood test also ,.
This position might last between 6 to 12 months ,I’ll see how I go.
I might still receive all my income from Centrelink as I don’t think I’ll earn enough for them to reduce my payments.
Me being the complete boofhead of the century here
I stated about a little of a week ago that I would be going to Windows 10 for a nostalgia trip…
Now as I am typing this… I am reverting to Windows 11.. And this time I’m gonna STICK TO IT.
Windows 10 has ended support & since I use the ol’ laptop daily… I need to be on Windows 11 otherwise; Malware could attack at any moment… and that’s the last thing you want when you are a content creator ![]()

The Queensland Sports and Athletics Centre in Brisbane was also formerly known as ANZ Stadium in the 90s-early 00s, after which the Brisbane Broncos returned to a redeveloped Suncorp Stadium in 2003.
Just when I thought I had a quiet night.. a Police Chase involving 3-4 cars were chasing a small bloody hatchback only got caught 20 minutes ago after being in the pursuit in the last hour & a half. Not to mention it being dark & hearing something be hit outside - I’ll update it in the morning.
So.. How’s everybody else’s nights been going?
Juniors were Year 7-10 and Seniors were Year 11-12. I don’t know if that has changed now or it varies by state.
