Random Radio

Is that the recommended solution? Because I’m down to try it.

Take out the mechanism that makes it click, that maybe possible.

The problem is that it looks like one piece with no obvious screws or spots to get inside.

With the spray, you might be able to squirt a little into the small hole with the help of a small straw like the WD40 one.

They have run out of ideas.

the presenters might as well take a redundancy now

At least in their “quotes” they seem skeptical.

No wd40 is a water displacement fluid, you need a hammer and a small screwdriver. Bash that jogwheel flat, real flat.

No, i meant the straw nozzle from the WD40 can, not WD40 itself.

Ok that’s an idea, perhaps a sliver of a bamboo skewer or a strip of something fine. Bypass the jog of the jogwheel genius.

However I like my hammer and screwdriver idea more

I would try this one first

Again, there doesn’t seem to be any visual screws to try to unscrew it, and me using a hammer and screwdriver in a small area, there would be issues with me going way overboard with force. Force works on wood, for the most part and within reason, but not on electronics where you need a deft hand.

If you can’t bypass the system externally then pop it open, I’ve yet to see a thing that can’t be opened .with a hammer and a screwdriver, bigclive has a spudger, give it a good bash, the internal clips will free up eventually.

And therein lies the problem - I’m likely to break it completely. I have shaky hands.

I am well aware of Big Clive, big fan of his work, and well aware of a spudger, used it before. Again, I have shaky hands and on small electronics, it can be a problem.

For woodwork in the classroom, I’m fine. The kids are only making big, basic projects that can be done in a few weeks. You can make allowances and compensate.

Back in 1992, you could buy a new Ford Festiva or Ford Laser from a Sydney Ford dealer with a ‘Triple M Triple Pack’.

You got a 10 disc CD stacker as the main accessory, but also came with decals and other little add ons. It’s the only time I’ve seen a radio themed new car for sale.

I imagine your radio would have been pre-tuned to 104.9 upon delivery as well.

Does the VW covered in denim count for 2SM/4IP? “blue bug of happiness”

Haven’t heard of that one?

Gee, that Laser was good value at $16,333 for 1992. Laser’s were great cars, but that model in particular was really good and refined.

Probably more suited to the Driving & Traffic thread, but that’s when Ford actually knew how to sell small cars.

Plus on roads, and air con was optional back then.. so on road with A/C would put it close to $20,000.

Having a 3 yr warranty was a good bonus too, back then most cars were still only with a 12 month/20,000 km warranty.

Still not bad. I remember early 90s Corollas pushed into the $20k’s

What do you think would be the next station to cease AM transmission?
