A very quick attempt at doing something which apparently takes more than two weeks for NBN to do (which is rather poor, especially when NBN News launched the new look on the same day Nine did - you think they would’ve been able to get a new coverup simply by extracting part of their new supers!):

Or leave it alone and don’t cover it up. They don’t cover 5am or 11.30am, the only reason they covered 4pm recently was because the graphics had “SYDNEY” on them.

I’m pretty sure the Gold/Central Coast versions of NBN still get the cover-up on all Nine News bulletins (probably to distinguish the metro & regional feeds)?
Either way, I agree it’d be better if the cover-up was removed entirely especially since there are Nine News logos on all the other graphics, on the microphone flags, etc.

Nice job! A few points of feedback;

The supers could be justified more to the left hand side of the screen as it looks quite 4:3 safe, it doesn’t need to extend all the way across to the main bug on the right either.

The weight of the font on the white super is very thin, also the text doesn’t need to be quite so big.

The text in the supers need a little indentation, otherwise they look like they’re falling out of the super.

I wouldn’t mind if the colour of the bug stayed white and animated with the new yellow Today logo, not a fan personally of the sky blue box.

The crawler at the bottom is quite hard to read, not sure how this can be fixed but maybe caps would be better for this?
Overall a nice job though, would be a great refresh for the show.
