I think they’re both awful to be honest.
IMO it’s not that they’re too broad, it’s just purely song choices. You can have a broad playlist that’s not so jarring.

Given the comments about Hit 107 in Adelaide in the “Metro Radio Ratings - Survey 6, 2019” thread, I thought I would look at a typical hour’s playlist of that station & compare it with Mix 102.3 & Triple M in Adelaide.
These were taken yesterday (Monday 30th September 2019) at around 1-2pm ACST.

I wanted to include Nova 91.9 on the comparison, but Lava didn’t record the playlist for that particular hour. They would’ve taken the same log as Nova 93.7 in Perth.
Anyway, this gives us a bit of an insight of what 3 of the 4 commercial FM stations in Adelaide are sounding like at the moment.

As you can see, the playlists of both stations are very adventurous, probably up there with Rebel & Breeze.
No doubt that it will be replaced by the generic Triple M & Hit regional logs (as well as branding) once SCA settles down on owning the stations (as well as selling off Spirit 621 in Bunbury).
Great playlists TV-Expert Spirit has been one of my favourite radio stations musically.
The narrow minded programmers at SCA need to look into both music formats on Red and Spirit and bring both formats across to the regional Hit and Triple M stations.
or you could tell us your experience in programming successful commercial radio stations compared to their 8 music directors working across the group
Gee that’s a snarky comment. Are you suggesting the 8 music directors at SCA have experience at programming successful commercial radio stations? I would disagree. Of course they are winners in the markets where they don’t have any competition if that’s what you mean…
Maybe you could tell us your vast experience?

I wouldn’t call any of the SCA regional music formats that fits all success stories would I? Like that narrow female skew music format on the regional MMM’s.
Have any of the 8 music directors been to different parts of Australia where SCA stations are (Not just the GC) and ask people all walks of life in these region areas what they want to listen too? (Not just the 25 to 54 year old grocery buyers)
I work in many areas in regional Australia where SCA and Redwave are. I have not heard many positive reports about the M’s since changing from The Greatest Hits. A lot of people have said both Hit and Triple M music is very repetitive, while people love the Spirit and Red music playlists.
I find Spirit and Red to be a bit broad with their sound, musically. I can understand that they have a MUCH higher TLH than stations in other markets, but I think they need to give the stations’s a bit more of a consistent sound. Tighten up the music categories a bit, and do shades of black and white, not black into white so much…
I think that change will come with the ownership change…
I think that change will come with the ownership change…
Change will come…Ill guarantee that. As what someone said above let’s hope they don’t mess with the music to much, but then again it SCA

Could you imagine the miners listening to that boring female skew music format on Spirit radio day in and day out…I think not Lol
Noticed that Triple M Hard n Heavy have quietly finished up its All Metallica stunt, so a first look at a regular format music log taken from this afternoon (via Lava):

I signed up. Track start times are off for me, hence why I questioned that. I used it while questioning about the SuperDigi network
Did you set your local timezone settings and preferences?
My Spotify playlist/‘radio station’ just threw up a funny twofer:
PETER COMBE- Juicy Juicy Green Grass
PINK FLOYD- Jugband Blues
…the common thread being madness.
For some reason (using Lava and a few other sources) non-iHeartRadio station logs for a few Triple M stations have become frozen in the past few days. For example, Triple M Sydney’s log is stuck on Two Princes by Spin Doctors since the 4th of December.
The playlist log for Triple M Sydney still works fine on the Triple M app at least.
Sample log from Rock Antenne- Soft Rock. It will be interesting to see how MMM Soft ©ock compares:
