This forgotten 2001 song by Human Nature (their worst charting song in Australia to date, spending only one week in the charts at #46) sounds much like “Stronger” by Britney Spears…
While this wasn’t one of their best songs, I liked the creativity of it, though there was some commentary that the concept was too similar to NSYNC’s “Bye Bye Bye”.
This came at a time when the band was trying to emulate the electronic sound of NSYNC, though with the exception of “He Don’t Love You” (peak #4) it wasn’t really a success, and by the time they released their 2004 album “Walk the Tightrope” they reverted back to the adult contemporary sound that made them a success in the 90s.
I always maintained that Human Nature were seen as Australia’s answer to the Backstreet Boys; interestingly, both groups’ debut singles are similarly titled (“Got It Goin’ On” and “We’ve Got it Goin’ On”, respectively).
