Radio Stations - Music Logs

Heading out west, and this year we’re going to see if MMM Perth is much different to the rest of the country. If I bothered listening to any of the MMM stations (either Metro or Regional) I’m sure I’d come up with an answer but I’d also have to listen to their boring predictable playlists.

Well, Lava has both stations covered.

So, here they are below.

Move FM - Lithgow, NSW
“Hits That Make You Move”
Friday 13th January 2023 - 2-3pm AEDT

“Forget Me” Lewis Capaldi
“Without You” The Kid Laroi
“Cold Hard Bitch” Jet
“Snap” Rosa Linn
“Don’t Call Me Up” Mabel
“Crush” Autone feat. Amanda Wilson
“Dancing With A Broken Heart” Delta Goodrem
“Let Me” Zayn
“100% Pure Love” Crystal Waters
“Anti-Hero” Taylor Swift
“I Won’t Let You Go” James Morrison
“Complete Mess” 5 Seconds Of Summer
“Burn” Jessica Mauboy
“Celestial” Ed Sheeran
“Burn” Tina Arena

2LT - Lithgow, NSW
“Classic Hits, News & Talk”
Friday 13th January 2023 - 3-4pm AEDT

“Leather And Lace” Stevie Nicks / Don Henley
“Green River” Creedence Clearwater Revival
“Do You Remember” Phil Collins
“Suspicious Minds” Elvis Presley
“Yellow” Coldplay
“I Shot The Sheriff” Eric Clapton
“Absolutely Everybody” Vanessa Amorosi
“Bed Of Nails” Ross Wilson
“Eight Days A Week” The Beatles
“You Make Me Feel Like Dancing” Leo Sayer
“That’s What Friends Are For” Dionne Warwick feat. Elton John, Gladys Knight & Stevie Wonder
“Soul Searching” Little River Band

The problem with 2LT is that it doesn’t play enough music, with much of the station’s programming being talk-based programming from 2GB, particularly at 9am-3pm weekdays, weeknights & much of the weekends, even outside of the NRL season. It’s a shame, because its music playlist is quite good.

Fixed. And which may cause a bowel movement.

Don’t mind the 2LT log actually; it’s closer to what a regional commercial station sounded like in the 80s (thanks Frankster!) 2BS is also pretty good when playing music.

Move FM has a good weekend playlist, playing more Dance tracks then most commercial stations.

Ironically, since BOG took over, 2BS has been playing more music than under the previous independent ownership, in which they took a lot of talk programming from 2GB. How long this will last remains to be seen.

Whilst we’re on the topic of 2BS

2BS 95.1fm - Bathurst, NSW
“Local Voices”
Friday 13th January 2023 - 4-5pm AEDT

“You’re Only Lonely” J.D. Souther
“All By Myself” Eric Carmen
“Stand By Me” Tracy Chapman
“She’s Like The Wind” Patrick Swayze
“Killer Queen” Queen
“Spirit In The Sky” Norman Greenbaum
“I’ll Make Love To You” Boyz II Men
“Still Got The Blues For You” Gary Moore
“Another Man” Itch
“Can’t Get Enough Of Your Love, Babe” Barry White
“Ex’s & Oh’s” Elle King
“A Little Less Conversation” Elvis Presley
“Just Breathe” Pearl Jam

And here’s one from 2BS’s sister station, B-Rock:

99.3 B-Rock FM - Bathurst, NSW
“Rock Of The West”
Friday 13th January 2023 - 4-5pm AEDT

“Down Under” Men At Work
“Down Again” The Superjesus (yes, not “Gravity” unlike most other stations! :open_mouth:)
“How To Save A Life” The Fray
“We Used To Be Friends” The Dandy Warhols
“We Built This City” Starship
“Wall Of Glass” Liam Gallagher
“Get It On” T. Rex
“The Joker” Steve Miller Band
“Sunday Morning” No Doubt
“I’ll Go Crazy” Bluejuice
“It’s Too Late” Evermore
“After Midnight” Eric Clapton

At least for the moment, the Bathurst-Lithgow region has some pretty interesting music playlists on among the local commercial radio stations.

I’ve always loved that B-Rock playlist.

(and in case I haven’t said it enough, they need to share B-Rock’s logs with NewFM)

Thanks @TV-Expert.

I really like the B-Rock log

What’s interesting is there is a bit of overlap with older songs getting played on both 2BS and Brock.

Normally in a duopoly one station skews much younger than the other.

In the case or Brock it is rock artists such as The Fray, Evernore etc, and some of the older music played on 2BS, Bathurst is quite a unique market.

I think the Brock playlist could work in Newcastle.with it fitting in nicely between 2NUR and Triple M with the latter going softer and more female friendly.

Power FM also has a good weekend playlist , with some good dance and old school r&b

Had my disability driver take me grocery shopping yesterday, he had KIIS 1065 on in Sydney, though horrible announcers, they were a few good songs I missed the artists and song title, so could someone please post the playlist from 11:00 am to midday (friday). Thanks.

Hate this song , I got sick of it years ago

Interesting how KIIS (my A$$) is a long way from a pure CHR these days. ‘3 AM’ would hardly be a relevant song to the yoof of today (and I agree, far from the best M20 song).

I have caught Power FM Nowra playing a few Billy Bob classics recently; nearly fell off the couch when I heard KWS- ‘Please Don’t Go’ on Friday night whilst tuning around. Now there’s a song I haven’t heard on commercial radio since the early 90s! They also spun the Grease Megamix last night.

It seems 90s retro is having a moment.

Agree, “Real World” and “All Your Reasons” are the only M20 songs i particularly like.

Thanks for doing this Mr. Expert! You could more accurately describe these stations as Adult Contemporary with some Christian content, rather than the other way around.
