Not sure if I’m misinterpreting your post, but RDS as we use it in Australia only allows for hexadecimal characters (so only A to F) thus S can’t be used in our PI codes.
This is the software parsing the Australian RDS code through the formula the US codes. “KMMZ” for example maps to 3101 which is indeed the current Fox PI code, but obviously “KMMZ” is meaningless for Fox.
In theory, the PI code would need to be 845C to get WSBS, but clearly that’s not the case anymore, their current PI converts to the far less fun KPPP.
This page lets you check, and to answer my own question there is a reverse lookup version, letting you enter a hex-PI code to get the US call letter equivalent.
That said, Joy’s “6DF0” becomes WJOY, so maybe some stations still take the US approach.

Here is an example where the system falls down
4007 is not a valid PI code.. and some radios may not like it

Small updates made to Bairnsdale made on the worksheet.
Took a short 5km detour towards Bemm River to get 3GV 104.5 RDS details. The choice of PTY made me chuckle, I don’t think I’ve seen this one before.

At Southbank in Melbourne for a few nights I think I can confirm JOY 94.9 in Melbourne City is not running RDS… wasn’t on the car radio on the way in yesterday either… could be a transmission issue as the stereo indicator keeps flickering on/off.

Noted this morning that Wangaratta’s 92.1 Star FM did introduce song title & artist info with their RDS RT (as expected). During a brief tropo lift noted that it appears as:
Now - [Title], [Artist]
There could be other new RDS RT messages. We’ll need the assistance of @captaincupcake or @Radiohead at some opportune time or a decent tropo lift on one of the Melbourne webservers to know.
Some of us observed last year that 102.1 Edge FM was occasionally using an RDS PI of 3021,
presumably from backup path transmission equipment. I haven’t noted this PI used this year.
@captaincupcake have you seen PI of 3021 used on 102.1 this year?
I’ve only noted them using a PI code of 3102 this year which is or should be fine in most cases (DAB+ SId of 3102 used in Melbourne only).
If Edge were to occasionally use PI of 3021 that ‘could’ cause Star FM (92.1) with it’s PI of 3921 to flick to The Edge 102.1MHz.
Another observation this morning; JOY 94.9 does still have RDS, but I think it’s their current low signal that’s causing RDS decode problems, but I suspect their RDS subcarrier is also much lower than it should be, maybe?

I’ve only seen 3102 in use lately, I’ll keep a watch out to see if it ever changes back to 3021 sometimes.
That seems to be on a regular rotation with the below.
I’ve also seen “just played - song , artist” and also weather at various moments but haven’t had a chance to cap them as yet.

The Victorian Alps was a disappointment RDS wise. Only the SCA relays and 3SEY with RDS, and even theirs has the dreaded 0000 PI code.
So nothing from 3UGE Alexandra or Yea, 3MCR Mansfield, 3VKV Bright or Mt Beauty or Star/Edge Mt Beauty.
Even 3SUN at Yea has changed from PS Hit93.7 to Hit96.9
