Racing.com

Racing.com has their own presenters and will probably use them for the Cup carnival

How Ten could pay $100m without securing exclusivity is the puzzler

DO any non-Australians accidentally go to https://www.racing.com at random times? They really need the change the name and URL.

Why would they go to racing.com without knowing what it is? Do you go to restaurants.com.au when youā€™re looking for a place to eat?

And well certainly never see internal audience data released by them, as Racing isnā€™t measured by the tam agencies.

Why?

Because of this Racing.com hyperlinks it

Though I personally am not advocating that.

No, I meant restaurants.com.au. You obviously donā€™t get my point.

Racing Victoria did release some audience figures for the 2017 Spring Racing Carnival.

And how is that a problem?

Well, self explanatory really. Itā€™s annoying for starters.

Maybe to you and @Aaron_Evans_2005 but clearly Iā€™m missing something.

Itā€™s their brand, why should they change it?

I think you need to explain it

I donā€™t see the problem either. The domain is relevant to the product and (surprisingly imo) was available when the channel was created so they took it and ran with it. Itā€™s a perfectly logical brand.

But back to the Melbourne Cup broadcast, Iā€™m glad Racing.com are able to continue to produce their own coverage. I think they do a better job than Seven of broadcasting horse racing for people who are interested in the subject, and having both their specialised coverage and the main channel coverage (be it Ten or Seven or whoever) allows the main channel to focus more on the stuff which is of interest to the typical ā€œthis is the only day I pay any attention to horse racingā€ viewer (which is probably most Melbourne Cup viewers) such as fashions on the field, without frustrating racing fans who want technical details and form analysis. Best of both worlds.

Earlier reports made it sound like Racing.com would have to simulcast the coverage and not produce their own, which would have been a shame.

You make my day sometimes TV AU

The racing name hyperlinks because it forms a URL. Just not ideal I guess.

Why? Thatā€™s exactly the point of it

Thatā€™s all youā€™ve got?

Itā€™s 2018 and you think a brand and a URL is"not ideal"?

You do realise the website and the TV platform are the same brand donā€™t you?

Weā€™re getting off context here, Iā€™m talking the broadcast channel, when typing it (a forum like here for example) it does become annoying how it will end up linking as a URL.
Not sure why Iā€™m suddenly being made to look like a weirdo for such opinion? Surely Iā€™m not the only one.

But why is it annoying? I just donā€™t get your point.
