Q+A

Q+A launched in 2008 under founding producer Peter McEvoy as a “town hall” democracy forum exchanging largely political ideas. Tony Jones hosted the series until 2019

Other hosts across its run included Hamish Macdonald, Virginia Trioli, David Speers, Stan Grant -who quit the show and ABC after a media barrage and racial abuse- Dan Bourchier and Patricia Karvelas.

Anybody who uses Simpsons grabs and quotes to make their point is just a numpty trying to appeal to Millennials

As for Q&A being axed.. about bloody time
The show used to be good in the beginning with user interaction via twitter and balanced debates.. but once Tony Jones and the shows original producer left it turned into a 1 sided bias gaslighting show.

Watching it during the voice referendum really highlighted this to me anyway.

Could be a lot worse.

For the last Q+A show, I reckon smuggle Alex Jones into the country, get him on the show with a bunch of people he would not agree with and watch the place get set on fire. And some gay frogs as well.

If you’re going to go out, may as well go out with a bang.

I used to watch most Q&A episodes up until 2014. Then it became a dull Left-wing echo-chamber no different to most Writer’s Festivals.

Sad really. And a reflection on political debate in this country.

I still contend that the greatest Q&A episode was the one from the Festival of Dangerous Ideas in 2013. Hard to beat that one.
