Doesn’t help that the station is only served by 4 bus routes that aren’t particularly good at connecting the sprawl out that way
One of the proposals for Sydney Metro West has the line doing a giant Z curve once it reaches the CBD, with stations at Haymarket, King Street North and Zetland.
One main thing I hope they ensure gets on the agenda is connecting Western Sydney Airport at both ends, rather than just north to St Marys, but connecting to Leppington, and eventually to Campbelltown.
Using the airport connectivity to make basically a full Suburban rail loop…
That would virtually create a rail link from Campbelltown to Penrith, bound to happen eventually.
One from Liverpool to the new WSI airport would be good too.
As mentioned on The Cheap Seats tonight.
The NSW government has decided against opening a ferry wharf at Birkenhead Point in Sydney’s inner west but is looking at building one in the fast-growing suburb of Rhodes amid strong demand for Parramatta River ferries. https://t.co/TRRzEuymCF

Melbourne’s iconic Flinders Street train station turns 170 today.
50c fare extended.
Courier Mail:
Premier Steven Miles has revealed 50 cent fares for public transport will remain in place permanently if Labor remains in office after the election next month.
He’s trying to buy more votes.I can see in the few times I’ve travelled on PT since the fares were reduced to 50c that more people are using it because of the cheaper fares
LNP now support the fare.
Queenslanders will have 50c public transport fares, regardless of who wins October’s state election. Both sides of the political divide will keep the cost of living measure
More services will be added to Sydney Metro between Sydenham and Chatswood from tomorrow (September 16).
UPDATE 16/9/2024: official NSW Government announcement
Also this weekend (September 21 and 22), buses replace Metro between Tallawong and Chatswood due to trackwork, the first since services began in the new Chatswood-Sydenham section.
