Pet Peeves

It does not help when the school kids have their heads buried in their mobile phones, yesterday’s bus trip home had a wheelchair passenger come aboard and the driver had to come down and order them to move off the priority seat.

Is this amount of detail necessary?

Remember you are on the internet.

I have edited.
Sorry about that, I realised afterwards that I probably went a bit too far.

Everyone travelling on public transport services these days has their eyes glued to their phones and wearing headphones /earbuds,especially young folks.Usually bus drivers don’t ask passengers to move further back to make more room for more passengers but they should or put up a sign ‘Sorry ,Bus Full” They have to do that on some of the more popular routes.
It’s not safe anyway to have too many passengers standing on buses

That I’m prone to ear infections if I wear AirPods or earplugs (Loop earplugs)for too often.
I had to go to the doctor today to get ear suction done and antibiotic ear drops as I had yet another ear infection :confused:my left ear is the most infected.
I can only wear my noise cancelling headphones for now until my ears are better and I should probably stay away from earbuds and my AirPods or limit the time I wear them for.

Hehe well I enjoy reading what’s posted here.

Anyway not a pet peeve as such but I am so glad I planned ahead with today being strikes hitting most of the Melbourne bus network , annoying but could get around using McHarrys bus routes around Geelong.

Didn’t even really know about it until I saw it on the news Monday which gave me some time to plan the routes I needed to take specifically to replace my original routes for the day.

I wonder how many people cried and didn’t plan ahead

People standing next to doorways on trains. Its not so bad when I board a train in the afternoon (from Wacol Station)but as the train fills up more approaching the CBD stations theres no room for people to board or disembark.Even if there’s empty seats people still stand there.I feel like shoving people away from the doors sometimes :-1:.Thats why I sit in one of the priority seats so I don’t stress about not being able to get to the doors when I need to get off.(to change to another train or a bus to home)

Yes and what makes it worse when people chain their bikes to the bars in the area where the doors are on the train carriages here in Sydney. It makes it hard to move to upstairs or downstairs areas.

That’s even worse, thankfully our trains here in SEQ are 1 level only.

Yep thata my pet peeve especially during peak hour when all the seats are full on the vline train.

There is no news to block the train doors.

I don’t know why we even bother with a quiet carriage during peak and bib peak. Everyone just talks loudly.

Anyone else in Victoria have noticed this ?

RACQ released results of survey and it was all over breakfast TV and Brisbane radio this morning.

I agree with the complaint about passengers reclining seats.Especially on budget airlines like Jetstar where there’s hardly any room between seat rows.Theres no need to recline your seat for flights of less than 2 hours duration anyway :-1:
I also like to allow myself plenty of time to arrive at the airport to avoid stress about running late.

Yes I agree no one is ever quiet in the designated quiet carriages, there’s 2 on SEQ trains, the 2nd and 5th carriages on 6 car trains,or middle carriage on a 3 car train

Tenants in my unit block who are too lazy to put their rubbish in the correct bins..Or not squashing their cardboard boxes before putting them in the recycling bins or just leaving cardboard boxes outside in the carpark or bins alcove .Lately I’ve become the unofficial bins person in my block ,I put them outside in the street Monday afternoon (the garbage truck comes on Tuesdays)and sometimes I squash boxes or tear them up to fit them in the recycling bins because these morons here are too lazy to do this.:-1:

And one from me.

People who chat non stop in surgery waiting rooms…

I was subjected to this today, the TV was on and woman in question was commenting on everything that came on… “Courteney Cox, she was in Friends, wasn’t she?” or something like “I hate ads, I’d rather watch the ABC”… I felt like telling her to put a sock in it.

I would have done that too

the only thing i hated about living in an apartment building… the bins. We had a roster for nominated residents to put the bins out/in each week which never gave us any problem but I did sort of become the unofficial bin monitor… breaking up cardboard boxes, removing non-recyclable items from the recycle bin… etc etc. Seriously one person put a toaster in the recycling bin :man_shrugging:
