REflection of telethon 2019:
- There Is a Telethon7 website where people could stream live online. As well with this there’s also a separate stream of Perth Telethon on 7Plus for Eastern states.
- Telethon has raised more than $40 million from various businesses. Spudshed had donated more than $100 000. Mark McGowan and PM Scott Morrison was at Telethon and donated a lot of money. As well with this, an In it to Win it segment where people try challenges in 60 seconds. Great segment there
. - Every Sunday Times and The West Australian Newspaper, 10c were donated to telethon.
- lots of musical performances from Ricki Lee and a few other guests. Even a boy band performed Tones and I hit single, Dance Monkey.
- Tim McMillan has done a fantastic job inside the telethon rooms since joining Seven a few months ago. He was more committed to the Telethon.
- Perth Telethon ran for 26.5 hours. Telecast ended at 9:10pm (Perth time)

To end up a few million over last years record it can’t just be Stokes topping it off for the sake of breaking the record as has obviously happened in the past.

The 2020 Telethon will be held on the weekend of October 24 and 25, which is also the same weekend as AFL Grand Final and NRL Grand Final. Due to WA’s hard border closure caused by COVID-19, Telethon will have a new format with interstate personalities unable to travel to Perth. The first article says there won’t be an all-night telecast this year, instead there will be two variety events: 8.30pm to 11.30pm on the Saturday and 6.30pm to 8.30pm on the Sunday (both AWST). There will also be two new venues: Optus Stadium and Crown Theatre.
