Paramount+ today announced the greenlight of Lolla: The Story Of Lollapalooza, a new music docuseries produced by MTV Entertainment Studios and FunMeter, in partnership with C3 Presents.

The three-part series, directed by six-time Emmy nominee Michael John Warren (Spring Awakening, Jay-Z’s Fade to Black), will chronicle the wild, exciting and strangely symbiotic 30+ year relationship between the iconic festival and its founder, music legend Perry Farrell, and the evolution of the now global cultural phenomenon that transcends generations of music fans and artists of all genres.

Lolla: The Story Of Lollapalooza is executive produced by Bruce Gillmer and Amanda Culkowski for MTV Entertainment Studios and James Lee Hernandez and Brian Lazarte for FunMeter. Michael John Warren, Mat Whittington, Daniel Gibbs and Brian Levy will also executive produce; Matt Kaye and Jordan Bogdonavage are co-executive producers.

P+ has renewed Transformers: EarthSpark for a second season, also revealing that the next eight episodes of season one will stream in the US and Canada from March 3, before rolling out in other countries including Australia.

Paramount+ announces new eight-part docuseries The Family Stallone, starring Oscar nominee Sylvester “Sly” Stallone, wife Jennifer Flavin Stallone and daughters Sophia, Sistine and Scarlet, premiering soon exclusively on Paramount+.

After playing some of the most legendary characters in cinematic history, three-time Academy Award® nominee Sylvester Stallone is ready to give cameras access to what he would consider the greatest role of his lifetime: dad. This new series starring Stallone’s three daughters, wife and himself offers a seat at the table of one of Hollywood’s most famous families.

Meet the Family Stallone.

  • Sylvester Stallone: To the world, he’s the man, the myth and the legend, but to his daughters, he’s just Dad. While he headlines box office smash hits, at home he is focused on building for the future and raising three independent and ambitious women.
  • Jennifer Flavin Stallone: Born and raised in LA, Jennifer is a savvy businesswoman and co-owner of the wellness brand Serious Skin Care.
  • Sophia Stallone: The eldest of the three Stallone sisters has no interest in following in her father’s acting footsteps. Although Sophia currently hosts a podcast, Unwaxed alongside her sister Sistine, she is still finding her path in life and focusing on her passions.
  • Sistine Stallone: An actress and model, Sistine is embarking on a new journey as a filmmaker and is currently in development on her first feature film.
  • Scarlet Stallone: The youngest of the Stallone sisters, and the last to leave the nest, Scarlet is moving into her own apartment at college. The Family Stallone is produced by MTV Entertainment Studios, with Benjamin Hurvitz, Jessica Zalkind and Nadim Amiry as executive producers. Frasier Revival Starts Production.

Frasier has re-entered the building! Paramount+ today announced that the news series Frasier, starring and executive produced by Kelsey Grammer, starts production this week. Shooting in front of a live studio audience in Los Angeles, the new series follows Frasier Crane (Grammer) in the next chapter of his life as he returns to Boston, Mass., with new challenges to face, new relationships to forge and an old dream or two to finally fulfill.

The first two episodes of the new series will be directed by legendary director and television creator James Burrows. Over his distinguished career, Burrows has been the recipient of 10 Emmys® and five Directors Guild of America Awards®, where he also holds the honour of being the most nominated director in the history of television. Burrows is best known for his work as co-creator, executive producer and director of the critically acclaimed series Cheers. His television work also includes hit series Will & Grace, the original series Frasier, Friends, Wings, Night Court, Taxi and Dear John, among others.

In addition to Grammer, the new series stars Jack Cutmore-Scott as Frasier’s son, Freddy; Nicholas Lyndhurst as Frasier’s old college buddy turned university professor, Alan; Toks Olagundoye as Alan’s colleague and head of the university psychology department, Olivia; Jess Salguerio as Freddy’s roommate, Eve; and Anders Keith as Frasier’s nephew, David.

Frasier comes from writers Chris Harris (How I Met Your Mother) and Joe Cristalli (Life In Pieces), who executive produce with Kelsey Grammer, Tom Russo and Jordan McMahon. The series is produced by CBS Studios in association with Grammer’s Grammnet NH Productions.

Paramount+ today released the official trailer for the new original series Grease: Rise Of The Pink Ladies. The upcoming musical series will premiere on Friday, 7 April, exclusively on Paramount+.

From Paramount Television Studios, Grease: Rise Of The Pink Ladies stars Marisa Davila as Jane, Cheyenne Isabel Wells as Olivia, Ari Notartomaso as Cynthia, Tricia Fukuhara as Nancy, Shanel Bailey as Hazel, Madison Thompson as Susan, Johnathan Nieves as Richie, Jason Schmidt as Buddy, Maxwell Whittington-Cooper as Wally and Jackie Hoffman as Asst. Principal McGee.

The musical series takes place four years before the original Grease. In 1954, before rock ‘n’ roll ruled, before the T-Birds were the coolest in the school, four fed-up outcasts dare to have fun on their own terms, sparking a moral panic that will change Rydell High forever.

Grease: Rise Of The Pink Ladies is written and executive produced by Annabel Oakes (Atypical, Minx), who also serves as showrunner and directed a later episode. Alethea Jones (Made for Love, Dollface, Evil) directed the pilot plus two more episodes and executive produces. Marty Bowen and Wyck Godfrey executive produce for Temple Hill, and Adam Fishbach also executive produces. Erik Feig and Samie Kim Falvey executive produce via Picturestart, and it’s produced by Grace Gilroy. Choreography by Jamal Sims, who also directed, and music by Grammy Award nominee and executive music producer Justin Tranter.

Paramount+ Expands Offerings With Star Trek: Picard And Star Trek: Lower Decks.

Star Trek: Picard Season Three Premieres Friday, 17 February.

Paramount+ today announced that Star Trek: Picard and Star Trek: Lower Decks will be joining the service’s streaming catalogue as part of a new deal with Prime Video. The third and final season of Star Trek: Picard will premiere in Australia date and day with the US on Friday, 17 February, with previous seasons of Star Trek: Picard also available to stream from this same date.

All seasons of Star Trek: Lower Decks will be available to stream on Paramount+ Australia later this year.

Paramount+ is now the home to every series and every episode of the full catalogue of Star Trek. This includes all seasons of the Paramount+ original series Star Trek: Discovery, Star Trek: Picard, the animated series Star Trek: Lower Decks and Star Trek: Prodigy, and the newest addition Star Trek: Strange New Worlds.

In addition to streaming on Paramount+, Star Trek: Picard will also stream on Prime Video.

Star Trek: Picard features Patrick Stewart reprising his iconic role as Jean-Luc Picard, which he played for seven seasons on Star Trek: The Next Generation, and follows this iconic character into the next chapter of his life. LeVar Burton, Michael Dorn, Jonathan Frakes, Gates McFadden, Marina Sirtis, Brent Spiner, Jeri Ryan and Michelle Hurd star alongside Patrick Stewart.

The series is produced by CBS Studios in association with Secret Hideout and Roddenberry Entertainment. For season three, Alex Kurtzman, Akiva Goldsman, Terry Matalas, Patrick Stewart, Heather Kadin, Aaron Baiers, Rod Roddenberry, Trevor Roth, Doug Aarniokoski and Dylan Massin serve as executive producers. Terry Matalas serves as showrunner for season three.

Star Trek: Lower Decks focuses on the support crew serving on one of Starfleet’s least important ships, the U.S.S. Cerritos, in 2380. The crew have to keep up with their duties and their social lives, often while the ship is being rocked by a multitude of sci-fi anomalies. The Starfleet crew residing in the “lower decks” of the U.S.S. Cerritos includes Ensign Beckett Mariner, voiced by Tawny Newsome; Ensign Brad Boimler, voiced by Jack Quaid; Ensign Tendi, voiced by Noël Wells; and Ensign Rutherford, voiced by Eugene Cordero. The Starfleet characters that comprise the U.S.S. Cerritos’ bridge crew include Captain Carol Freeman, voiced by Dawnn Lewis; Commander Jack Ransom, voiced by Jerry O’Connell; and Doctor T’Ana, voiced by Gillian Vigman.

Star Trek: Lower Decks is produced by CBS’ Eye Animation Productions, CBS Studios’ animation arm; Secret Hideout; and Roddenberry Entertainment. Paramount+ reveals the official trailer for the new original series School Spirits, premiering two episodes on Friday, 10 March. Following the premiere, new episodes of the eight-episode season will be available to stream weekly exclusively on Paramount+.

Produced by Awesomeness Live-Action Studios, School Spirits is centred around Maddie (Peyton List), a teen girl stuck in the afterlife investigating her own mysterious disappearance. Maddie goes on a crime-solving journey as she adjusts to high school in the afterlife, but the closer she gets to uncovering the truth, the more secrets and lies she discovers.

School Spirits stars Peyton List (Cobra Kai, Bunk’d) as Maddie Nears, and is based on the upcoming graphic novel by Nate & Megan Trinrud and Maria Nguyen.
