Wonderland had been on 10play, last time I looked. In fact, the show description and previews still appear on 10play.
They might as well make some money from it being on other streaming services. I believe it’s had a run on Amazon Prime too.
Just surprised I guess, the non exclusivity, Why Women Kill on SBS , Evil going to Stan,
Mr & Mrs Murder and Elementary are also coming to Stan after they aired on 10
Blood & Treasure is another CBS series that premiered on 10 play but is going to Stan.
I just thought they would want more exclusive? content for 10 All Access and it’s (however many?? ) subscribers…
But it might not be worth keeping it exclusive once viewers stop watching it there. Might as well shop it around to other streaming services.
I just wonder with Binge having 3 months free for new Telstra subscribers as well as Telstra plus deals, how many people are actually paying the full $10 a month to 10 All Access.
10 may have originally aired Wonderland, but that doesn’t mean they should retain any exclusive rights to the show after their initial broadcast run as that would be quite cost prohibitive.
Picking up a series for their streaming service just because it originally aired on their network is nonsense, unless it makes commercial sense for potential revenue gained from picking up the rights.
Honestly, that show wasn’t that great anyway so I don’t blame them for not picking up the BVOD or SVOD rights to air it, good on Stan for picking it up.
I don’t think that’s correct, the show page has remained on 10 play for some time, but I don’t believe they have never had it available for catch-up since it’s original broadcast.
I’m pretty sure the summer before last 10 Play had a “Summer of Aussie drama” (or something like that) promotion and Wonderland was one of the shows added along with Puberty Blues and some others.
EDIT: turns out it was 2017/18
Ah, nice work finding that.
Although, if my memory serves me correctly not all of that promoted content actually made it online - which is not surprising for 10.
I waited for ages for Secrets & Lies to be available, even trying to find out from the network directly to no avail.
At a conference last week ViacomCBS head Bob Bakish when asked didn’t say what would happen when the company’s contracts with Foxtel and Stan expire early next year. It seems there is no guarantee that Showtime content will automatically go to 10 All Access or it’s rumoured replacement. Bakish says that ViacomCBS wants to grow streaming, but that they also are in the business of supplying third parties. They will make a decision based on strategy, financial, and partnerships.

The fact that shows like Why Women Kill went to SBS and Evil is on Stan seems to indicate 10 All Access wont change much here. Might be wrong though.
Unless they made the show. Generally whoever makes the show owns it. The good thing with networks making their own shows is they can control these things, but they take on additional costs and risks.
I would suggest if third parties are willing to spend good money, then they’ll go with that. If not then they will keep for their own service.
Changes to CBS All Access ahead of rebranding to occur in 2021. Reported that 10 All Access will laso be re-branded.
They should be done with 10 All Access altogether its just a money bleeder. The thing is useless as a stiff chook.
If they got RuPaul off Stan that would be a decent showcase show.
In the long term is there a possibility of 10 shows appearing on the new consolidated service?
Perhaps rights are tied up elsewhere or the shows non exclusive with other providers.
“Multiple sources” have told Nine newspapers that ViacomCBS intends to stream new Showtime content on its Australian platform, currently known as 10 All Access, when their deal with Nine’s Stan streaming service ends early next year. An announcement is expected later tonight our time when the company’s second quarter results are presented in New York.
On a side note, what are people’s opinions on the future rebranding of 10 All Access?
Personally I think ViacomCBS should quietly sweep 10 All Access under the rug and claim this rebrand as an all new service.
Where access to survivor and other reality shows is NOT a main feature like they currently are doing.
CBS is touting a fully rebranded “super service” to be launched early next year. They’ve already integrated existing ViacomCBS brands- Nickelodeon, MTV, BET, Smithsonian, Paramount and Comedy Central- into the existing CBS All Access service. The new user interface is very reminiscent of NBCUniversal’s Peacock service with all the company’s brands side by side. There’s currently a separate Showtime streaming service in the US so I wouldn’t be surprised to see it brought under the umbrella of the new offering with an additional charge added for access to it.
I don’t imagine the Australian service will be anywhere near as comprehensive given the content deals they have with Foxtel and Fetch.
