Paramount Australia & New Zealand

Was bound to happen. Ten will need to go in another direction with programming content. Shame to see Simpsons and modern family gone but I’m sure they’ll end up elsewhere. Probably new episodes kb fox 8

No News Corp co-ownership of Ten = no Fox deal.
Could Gogglebox be next to go from Ten?

It’s not really produced by fox. They would have a contract with the production company. Shame if ten lost one of its highest rating shows

Gogglebox Australia is produced by EndemolShine Australia for Foxtel & Network Ten, so that contract is probably under a separate deal.

Similarly, the A League coverage/Back Page Live on One would probably also have a separate contract to the other Fox content.

It is possible that News Corp could order Foxtel to terminate all co-operation with Ten, which will include Gogglebox. What will happen next? News Corp papers boycotting Ten shows? Not accepting advertisements of Ten programs? That will be disastrous for the network.
The A-League deal is with Football Federation Australia so it will not be affected.

I actually thought they sub licensed it from fox.

If news corp are making money from some tie ups with ten then they’d keep those arrangements.

And unless cbs sells tens stake in mcn there’s still some tie up there as well.

News Corp should realise that they get an awful lot of clickbait on the back of Channel 10 programs and publicity. If they want to snub Channel 10 entirely then they can say goodbye to a lot of precious clicks.

And if Fox wants to play hardball on Gogglebox then EndemolShine could say fine take Channel 10 out of the equation but your bill for the show has suddenly gone up and for no additional viewers.

Well said, and don’t forget those free overseas trips for the journos for the inside scoop on I’m a Celeb and Survivor

Now we’ll get ads stating if you want Fox content, you’ll need Foxtel. Can’t see The Simpsons on FTA TV ever again TBH. Wouldn’t surprise me if any Fox content stays on FTA.

Mind you, I’ve since switched over to certain other methods…so it’s a huge case of meh…

Well that’s Murdoch’s loss then.

People will either illegally download Fox content from the US or not watch it. They aren’t going to subscribe en masse to Foxtel for their programming at ~$50 a month. He stands to gain nothing by locking his content behind a paywall which has only 30% penetration into the Australian TV market.

Murdoch will make a deal with a major commercial network soon, I’m sure.

The Fox library programs and movies will bolster Seven or Nine’s multichannel schedule, that’s for sure.

There has been no full list of shows that will be gone under this deal. I am sticking with new episodes. I have compiled a list. Please tell me if there is anything I have left off or anything to add. Also please let me know if you think any are wrong:

Star, Speechless, Last Man Standing, Last Man on Earth, Bob’s Burger’s, New Girl, American Crime Story, This is Us, Modern Family, Homeland, The X Files, Salem, You’re the Worst, The Strain, Empire, Sleepy Hollow, American Horror Story, Pitch (which never did screen), Fresh off the Boat, The Simpsons, The Americans, Tyrant, Man Seeking Woman, Rosewood.

Also Life in Pieces is a 20th show but airs on CBS, but I think that counts it out.

Why would Seven or Nine waste money on an output deal for the Fox library. They have both indicated by their recent actions that they are only interested in single program deals.

Why does it count it out? CBS just owns broadcast rights for the US, not Australia.
