Paramount Australia & New Zealand

If it does happen (very unlikely though) I could see the full company split up into three parts, similar to what happened in 2005 when Viacom/CBS split. Something I came up with:

Paramount Pictures: Consists of Paramount Pictures Corporation, which includes the studio, the studio lot, home entertainment, Paramount Television etc. except Nickelodeon Movies and Miramax which becomes owned by Viacom 3 and spun-off respectively.

CBS Corporation: Consists of CBS Entertainment Group, including the CBS stations, CBS News etc. with BET spun off as well. CBS would also have Paramount+.

Viacom (incarnation 3): Consists of the rest of the assets, including MTV Networks (MTV, Comedy Central, Nickelodeon etc.) as well as Showtime and Channel 5, Network 10 and the current international stations and Pluto TV.

Australia’s Network 10 announced recently that, from 1 August, 10 Shake will be rebranded as Nickelodeon.

Under its new format, the channel will carry Nick Jr. programming during the daytime, series from the main Nickelodeon brand throughout the afternoon, and a regional variant of Nick at Nite focused on acquired sitcoms and films from the Paramount Pictures library. This will result in the end of the existing Nickelodeon, as a subscription channel via Foxtel, in Australia.

Back in my home country, I have a question to ask.

What’s going to happen to Nickelodeon, Nick Jr. and Nick Music in NZ? They are currently available as subscription channels on Sky.

Doubt they’d change.

There are three potential options that could happen with Nickelodeon NZ.

Full Shutdown - Nickelodeon Australia and New Zealand shuts down completely and New Zealand won’t have Nickelodeon anymore.

Partial Shutdown - The current Nick ANZ feed shuts down but still broadcasts in New Zealand.

Merger - The Nickelodeon NZ feed switches to the 10 Shake (FTA Nick) feed and replaces it.

This will be the most likely scenario, calling it now.

If I recall rightly. When Nickelodeon first landed in NZ they took the feed that was primarily for Hong Kong and Singapore, before switching to the Australian feed after a couple of years. Not sure whether that would be an option and Nick consolidate their feeds.

It appears that, although Nickelodeon replaces 10 Shake in Australia and becomes a free-to-air channel, the Paramount channels (e.g. MTV, MTV Hits, MTV 80s, Nickelodeon, Nick Jr. and Nick Music) will remain in New Zealand and continue to be available as subscription channels on Sky, as does Comedy Central.

I checked the listings on the Sky TV Guide app.

I can second this. No word from Sky on its help page yet. Looks like they’re doing a split feed.

Warburton has hardly done anything revolutionary at Seven to be crowing about anything, he’s steering a very slowly (and expensive) sinking ship.

Heck even Sonia Kruger made light of the fact that it was such a bold idea to poach a bunch of 9’s old formats (and 10 too with Big Brother & Australian Idol) during her Logies speech, says it all really.

Also, has he forgotten he was once the former CEO of the very company he was referring to and quickly ousted from the role after a little over a year? Nothing he did worked then either.

What a chump.

Paramount ANZ And AGL Invite Viewers To ‘Join The Change’.

Paramount ANZ Brand Studio Creates A Bespoke Campaign For AGL, Putting The Power Back In The Hands Of Australian Families.

Full-service branded content specialists, Paramount ANZ Brand Studio, have collaborated with AGL, UM and Mediabrands Creative Studios to create three bespoke TVCs activated across 10 and 10 Play for AGL’s ‘Join The Change’ campaign.

Maximising audience reach across all devices, the ‘Join The Change’ TVCs launched during the season premiere of Gogglebox Australia on 10 and 10 Play, starring Gogglebox alumni, the Jackson family.

Featuring unscripted conversations among the Jackson family about ways they could be a more energy efficient home, the TVCs aim to educate homeowners on power usage habits to reduce their carbon footprint and take control of their power bills.

Michael Stanford, Head of Paramount ANZ Brand Studio, said: “We worked with AGL at every stage from ideation and strategy, right through to integration, creative production and activation, all within our premium shows and franchises and across our diverse content ecosystem.

“Unscripted natural conversation was the idea for this campaign, and who better to bring this to life than Gogglebox alumni, the Jacksons. You never know what they might say but you know it is genuine, real, and always relatable. So, once we set the Jacksons off on the topic of power usage, we captured conversations that will really encourage homeowners to rethink their daily routines.”

Jo Egan, Chief Customer Officer, AGL said: “AGL launched our new brand platform in April where we invited everyone to ‘Join The Change’. As the industry changes, AGL is playing a leading role as we implement our new strategy to accelerate the decarbonisation of our customer and generation portfolios.

“One way we are inviting our customers to ‘Join The Change’ is to demonstrate the safe and practical ways they can conserve energy and save on their bills.

“We are excited to be partnering with Network 10’s Gogglebox Australia to help Australians see where they’re using their energy at home and make some changes to save on their bills."

Camille Eddy, Client Director, UM, said: “This incredible partnership with Network 10 will allow AGL to seamlessly speak to everyday Australians to launch their new brand proposition, ‘Join The Change’ to market.

“The ability to integrate with Gogglebox alumni talent has ensured our messaging not only cuts through but is relatable and provides useful energy saving tips to families in a time when it counts.

“It is a pleasure for UM and Mediabrands Creative Studios (MBCS) to work with Paramount ANZ Brand Studio who provided strategic guidance and expertise every step of the way to ensure this partnership’s success.”

Gogglebox Australia is an Endemol Shine Australia production for Network 10 and FOXTEL.

Outrageous! Lisa is getting paid a 7 figure sum to literally do nothing. She hasn’t been on air all year. Use that money Lisa!

You’ve really done yourself bad over Brittany. Hope she was worth loosing your career for.
