Sharina has been on Studio 10. I think the now former FormerInsider is probably a fan.

5 posts were merged into an existing topic: MTV Australia - 10’s third multichannel?

That is a positive. Its been a long time coming. Although we still aren’t sure if it will be an MTV channel. But this does seem likely.

I wish I could add something to it in the appropriate thread. Mumbrella has said about the fourth channel:

More details will be revealed this week, but Mumbrella understands the channel will have a focus on entertainment content.

probably not worth re-opening the thread for the stunning revelation the channel will have a focus on “entertainment content”, mate

LOL. What else could the channel consist of?

not sure where to comment on the new m/c now, unless mods would discourage it altogether for the time being

Another theory on 10’s new multi-channel is maybe copying Seven and Nine’s long-running model?

Make 10 Bold ‘oldies’ (like 7Two or 9Gem), 10 Peach young women (like it already sort of is and 7flix) and the new one young blokes (like 7mate and the new 9Rush)?

but it says “more details will be revealed this week”

let’s cross that bridge when we come to it.

“At their mid year upfronts”
This was already held today. Maybe mumbrella fucked that up. They often have no idea what is going on.

No. As 10 Bold does very well in the key demos 25-54 unlike 7Two and 9Gem.

I wonder how 7Two and 9Gem make money for their companies and have been able to be on air for such a long time?

Those extra redundencies coming from the sales staff. Less than 10. Luckily not a blood bath.

No but 10 closing 10 Daily doesn’t make a lot of sense when it was only a few months ago that they were hyping it up.

True, but a few months ago the country hadn’t shut down with a worldwide pandemic, nor had 10 started the implementation of changes due to the merger of ViacomCBS. Times are different now.

Still seems a little hasty to complete shut it down now… Especially when they suggested that it was essential to their brand. That is my opinion anyway.

Fair enough. Some roles are being integrated into 10 play so it seems some staff are being spared.

Its not the staff I am questioning. It is the brand. In 2018 when they announced it they made it sound like this was essential to their brand going forward. Perhaps its was the wrong call from them at the time. And perhaps this is CBS coming in now and stamping their authority and vision.
