Optus Sport

The coverage is good , especially the choice of highlights, shorts and mini-matches on Fetch.

The Copa America starts on Friday too so there’ll some good Football this month.

and it rolls onto Paris (although Olympic football is a glorified under 19 comp and frankly, as its not the pinnacle of the sport should be dropped)

It’s U23s for the men, while it’s a full-international level for the women.

Big news:

Optus Sport subscribers will now be able to watch the longest running national knockout football cup competition in the world, the Emirates FA Cup, live on Optus Sport from November 2024.

The deal includes the FA Community Shield.

That’s huge. The deal links up with Optus Sport’s existing coverage of Women’s FA Cup and FA Women’s Super League.

Great news. Paramount’s coverage was cheap and tacky with no pre-game coverage at all. EPL and FA Cup on Optus Sport is huge

I’m glad the FA Cup went to one of Optus or Stan, as they both give you the option of watching mini-matches (24 min) or extended highlights (10 min), as opposed to the rubbish recap which is taken from the end of the game , and doesn’t give you any element of surprise-the commentators just talk about the game and talk over the main highlights.

The only thing I really wish Optus sport had is the same function Stan sport use to switch between matches.

Paramount+ coverage was fine! All I want is see my team play not some so called ‘expert’ pontificating about how they know best. :grinning: I’ve watched football for long enough to know if and when my team is playing well or playing badly.

Now if only Optus could get the European Competitions away from the over priced dreadful Stan and their awful coverage.

I’m very pleased. I signed up to Paramount+ (thankfully at a discount rate) for the FA Cup final, and am determined to get my money’s worth by watching early seasons of Criminal Minds, but everything else on there I either have on DVD or don’t want to see. So I’m glad the FA Cup is going to a service I actually value and I won’t need to renew Paramount+
