Hmmm she didn’t mention anything about her co host in regards to chemistry. I do hope it works otherwise Chris works better with Ali but I will reserve judgement until she gets familiar with Breakfast.

Good Sorts segment that airs at end of each Sunday bulletin is going on hiatus in a few weeks.
And Re:News future is up in the air again as TVNZ proposing to cut several fulltime jobs attached to Re, and cutting its news content online in May.

When will they update the 100year old set, so tired and really hoped for a refresh with Tova starting. Having been in NZ last week I did watch breakfast a few times and it’s pretty awful nothing compared to Aussie breakfast shows which I ended up streaming via vpn just quality of content alone.

Forget the set… how about some brighter on screen graphics? The black and white scheme is inappropriate for a morning news show. And add some contrast to the cameras, it feels so washed out and dull. And ditch the ridiculous VR extended “grand designs” set.

So Anna Burns-Francis seems to have become Al Jazeera’s new Washington D.C. anchor. She’s hosting this new show from there, which features an exclusive interview with Marco Rubio, which has been picked up by other outlets too:
It’s kind of funny in a way. Kamahl Santamaria went from AJE to Breakfast (we all know what happened there…). Anna replaced him on Breakfast and now she’s at AJE.

She is exactly what I expected and has made Breakfast more interesting and sharp imo, the only thing dragging the show down now is a lack of a dedicated newsreader.
Although I do wonder if part of Mei’s new gig of business host will mean she’s a 3rd presenter and may read the news headlines along with business updates throughout the morning.
