But this coverage is a bit over the top surely? 6.24 and they’re just going back to reporters repeating stuff again plus these straps are all so pointless, stating the bleeding obvious.

I think they would have stuck with race coverage on TVNZ1 and bumped the news. It’s been rating absurdly high but also, as other posters have pointed out, the bulletin was chocka with AmCup too.
I’ve heard that a delayed bulletin would’ve run until 7:30 with no Seven Sharp if Team NZ were to win a tenth race. Then back to Am Cup coverage for the trophy ceremony etc. This of course changed at 10 minutes till six, with SS and news ready to go normal time.
Agree. What I was getting at is when the news would have aired considering the race coverage probably would have been significantly extended to capture the celebrations and show the trophy presentation
