Hahah it’s an exact copy of our version. I’m surprised they only went with once a week. I can see why it’s on 2 though if it’s using some stories from Aus ACA too

It’s weird that a pub broadcaster would air this stuff, even if it runs ads. A format like Three’s The Project NZ would be better suited to a younger skewing sister channel, especially as it can rely on the resources of 1 News.

Minimal effort and hopefully minimal ratings for it. Really, what was the point? Probably not attracting anyone new and isn’t the ACA audience in Australia old skewing. Seems to defeat the purpose of having it on TVNZ2.
It will be interesting to see if TVNZ launch an actual news product of their own on TVNZ2. Possibly something after 8:30 and a bit offbeat would be good.

I’d design one for them for free, and it would be about a million times better than the flat version of the Aussie show.
Not sure why they’d want to go down the route of using the 9 brand either, surely they’d be paying an ongoing license fee to use the brand / logo / graphics package so can’t see it being any more expensive to do it in-house or outsource it

Wouldn’t it just be the same as 1News, just with the 2 logo?
Depends on the audience they are trying to get. If you want a young audience you wouldn’t use the same graphics and studio and music you would have something that attracts the audience you want.

This is the bonus with threes news service being called Newshub…its universal and can appear on any of its platforms/channels

I would say the program will improve overtime. You need to build an audience first before being able to receive stories submitted from the community (which is the purpose of ACA…)
