My thoughts exactly, such a ghastly looking set. I’m wondering whether that was filmed at Avalon or Television Center in Auckland.
Interesting that they were already moving away from Avalon in the 90’s. The advantage of Avalon is the amount of space they could use for a grand election night. Those were the days.

What’s everyone’s thoughts on Chris Chang taking over the news on Breakfast & TVNZ1 Midday? I like him and think he’d make a great addition to the team. Otherwise I think Jenny Suo in the morning and Wendy Petrie taking over TVNZ1 Tonight.

Midday just finished with a random shot from a different angle ( I think the midday sport background was on) but looked so much better than normal full framed shot.
Should give Wendy breakfast. Midday Chris Jenny tonight and ditch breakfast weather presenter.
breakfast is an entire unorganised mess. They f around too much. News needs to come from the stand up point or sitting down. Not standing half a foot from their seat. I don’t watch to see them get up off their seat sipping their coffee and tapping on their laptop.
Watched a bit yesterday, returning from a break Melissa was getting up from her seat looking at her laptop, John was talking looking at nobody and Jenny was too busy typing away and looking at her laptop then she eventually looked up and gave a look of can’t b f’d. Tooooo messy.

I disagree with what you say. TVNZ Breakfast’s approach is for a casual, upbeat morning show. Which I think they have successfully created. It’s relaxed compared to The AM Show and the ratings show people like that. Matty MacLean is the young, fun character to the show. Getting rid of him would be a massive loss. I think TVNZ Breakfast is great. The theme to it is just right. Keep it as it is.

Not really, they’re all on a salary I would assume and accumulate their hours one way or the other one screen or not.
Nah breakfast is too casual it’s a put off. Matty meh not phased.
2 interviewers, 1news reader, sports & weather, that’s all you need. Even the Autoscript Cameras are robotic.
Such a good vibe watching Breakfast these days. The have done well to create this vibe.
Amazing to think Three is now offering the opposite.

So is Sav just the two days a week sports reader now?
They are splitting the shifts differently now than a 5/2 split, I believe.
They’re still in talks about where Sav fits, I’m hearing.
