Anna is back working on Fair Go…I suspect it’s a bit easier to work on that then switch to Tonight rather than do the breakfast and midday news then try and focus on Fair Go.
Good point!
Good to see Oriini hosting 1News Tonight. True talent!
Live cross to Tim Avier tonight and he was referred to as “Nine News Correspondent” rather than “Channel 9 Correspondent” as has been the case for a while now.
10 News First’s Eamonn Ashton-Atkinson was reporting for 1 News from Washington D.C. tonight in regards of the protests.
Hayley was back on Breakfast this morning. My heart goes out to her, what a rough time but she made a point of embracing the positives.
Jenny-May and Pippa did a fantastic job filling in for her, and I note that JMay has definitely built up her credibility as a main host.
Missed this the other day, but couldn’t agree more. She’s fantastic.
Tonight the sofa returns to Seven Sharp but it wasn’t in storage where it was meant to be over lockdown.
It’s so weird to see social distancing stopped on the telly! Even watching The Project with the return of a fourth host… better work stories eh
Great yarn for us TV nerds!
Hilary is a bloody natural at these sort of pieces and yet she’s still a go to when there’s a national event (March 15, Covid-19 specials) to anchor rolling news. Funny to think that if she’d never left 3 News/ Newshub we would never have known (obviously she read news on Paul Henry but a bit different)
That’s gold, love Hilary.
Any more screen caps of the breaking news coverage through out the day from 1, Three & Prime?
Sorry, I don’t have any. Doubt Prime did much
Rats! I watched the catchup of Prime News earlier today and they did take the 5.30 presser live following a live cross to Emma Cropper. I do wish Prime had the flexibility to cross to News updates outside of its 5.30 bulletin even though it is restricted because of their Mediaworks contract.
1 broke in for the police media conference at 1:55, although they took it (parts of it, anyway) on delay. I don’t think they could get a live link up in time from Wellington Airport
There were a number of press conferences in and around the same time, so I’d imagine resources were a bit stretched.
Yeah and I don’t think much notice was given about it so a lot of media orgs were scrambling to get there on time.
So who do we all think has got the kick from TVNZ? NZ Herald reported on Friday that TVNZ will be cutting jobs with it also meaning it is probably going to be either Simon or Wendy from the 6pm News. I think get rid of them both and put Jack Tame on the news. Doesn’t look like Jack is doing any favours ratings wise on Q+A, so maybe it’d be good putting him on 6pm full time… Thoughts? https://www.nzherald.co.nz/entertainment/news/article.cfm?c_id=1501119&objectid=12341418
