It quickly turned out she wasn’t required, with essentially Gary more than capable steering the ship from the record-breaking S2 onwards from 2010.

Even though it was expected she would return, Matt Preston even referencing her upon accepting his Logie Award and it was never officially stated she had been let go and quietly disappeared.

FWIW she was pretty solid and had a prolific appearance across S1, will never forget her “my Mum cooked Margaret Fulton” and I think The 7pm Project making a hilarious gag.

Sadly, very little of this show exists today. The only clip said to survive is a performance by former member of The Seekers Bruce Woodley. Said clip used to be on YouTube, but no longer.

Not familiar with Fredd Bear but he looks a bit scary for children. At least Humphrey B Bear looked friendly.

there is this promotional clip, which I gather, given it’s a colour film, was possibly played in theatres back in the days when there were pre-show features or short films.

ABC was planning to have coverage on both ABC1 and ABC2. The ABC1 coverage was a straight relay of the BBC’s coverage with Huw Edwards, while ABC2 was going to be an alternative coverage with The Chaser team. However, Clarence House found out, and ordered the BBC to bar ABC access to the feed if The Chaser was going to be involved, saying that there is some rule about not using the feed for comedic purposes, so ABC had to drop The Chaser.

Despite this no comedy rule Nine had Dame Edna, and The Project I presume had Dave Hughes.

I wonder how Nine allowed that to happen given he was hosting The Price Is Right at the time. As with most other Seven shows that year, it probably tanked in the ratings.

Also, today is ten years since former newsreader Ian Ross sadly passed away.

When did The Price Is Right begin in 2003? Was it after this program went to air?

Just did a Wikipedia search: June 23.

However I was under the impression that Emdur was still at Nine during the period that Price was off-air, though I do know he hosted Cash Bonanza in 2001 or 2002.

Cash Bonanza ran from March to June 2001.
