Yeah - fairly common practice in this part of the world.

7 had the Olympic Rings during the 2016 and 2021 AFL seasons as well as on the network itself when it had the Olympic rights. Nine in the past had the Rings during NYE fireworks and during the NRL Grand Final.
NBC has the Rings from New Year’s Day until the Closing Ceremony and from the start of the Fall season until February (for Winter Games)
