Olympics Coverage - History

Eh, for once I’m giving @LukeMovieMan a credit for at least trying to seek confirmation. And yes, I used the tagging system.

Keep being you, Lukeyboi.

Think he means the country/score graphics on the left, which come out of each event control room and are the same wherever in the world you are watching. Non English language country broadcasters are provided with graphics/templates to do their own cover-ups.

Ann Sanders does the voice over for the disclaimer just like for Rio 2016:

Craig Willis should’ve done the copyright voiceover. The best in the business

Apparently NBC is going to delay the Opening Ceremony 13 hours after the event started at 7.00PM ET.

It seems there is no set. Just presenting in front of a screen.

In a step forward though (for NBC’s standards), they are going to live stream the world feed coverage (without commentary) via their website and apps

Presenters based in South Korea unlike the Summer Games

Tens studio in Sochi was better than this half arsed shit. Clearly the coverage is done on the cheap. Typical free to air treatment of a world event. At least they’re over there for once.

I agree. At least there over there. Reality is though, they need to make money and a set and all the costs involved in that probably doesn’t add enough value to the broadcast for the average viewer to warrant the expense, especially in a market our size (as opposed to say the US). At least being on the ground they can have the main anchors interviewing athletes in the flesh rather than via satellite, even if it is out and about in the grounds or in front of the screen.

How about we wait and see the actual coverage tonight / tomorrow first, before making judgement CMO.

Production closer
(with Ann Sanders’ legal billboard part of the production end-tag just before it, but cap of it has already been posted)

Do you know if Front Bar is live or recorded next Friday?

As all markets (bar Perth) have it for 8:30pm.

So if live, Sydney and Melbourne yes but Brisbane, Adelaide and Perth must be delayed?

Not listed as live in any market.
