Does anyone have any videos of Nines Commonwealth Games coverage 2006 including the set?

The 2006 Winter Olympic Games opened in Turin, Italy, on February 10, 2006 (15 years ago today). It would be the last Winter Games to be shown on Seven for the next 12 years.

Seven’s coverage was controversial at the time as there was limited live telecast of events overnight, with competition footage shown during Sunrise. Fans had to tune in at 7.30pm for the previous day’s highlights.

Here is the clip of the opening for Seven’s coverage.

Start of 7’s coverage of the Sydney 2000 Olympic Games Opening Ceremony. Rest of the ceremony not shown due to obvious reasons. Includes ads which aired that night.

2006 provided my favourite OBS Olympics opener:

Also a fan of the 2006 version of the CBC Olympic Theme:

NBC’s coverage of the 2012 Olympics were widely criticised. In Australia we had 9 and Foxtel that year although 9’s coverage too wasn’t well received.

I saw mainly Foxtel’s coverage that year which had 8 Olympic channels in HD. 9 had single channel coverage but had exclusive coverage of the Ceremonies

Not from my collection, but a view of Nine’s studio set from the 2006 Commonwealth Games, featuring Garry Lyon and James Brayshaw as hosts in this particular segment.

Hi all. I am planning to create an online website resource all about Australian Olympics, Paralympics and Commonwealth Games broadcasts

Thing I’d seek to include are:
Watermarks
Hosts/Commentators
Snippets of the coverage
Promotions for the coverage
Broadcast logos for the games
Graphics
Set design
Make up of the coverage and time (such as mornings, afternoons, prime time, late nights etc)
Shows/programs as part of the coverage (such as the Dream, Russian Revolution etc)

This would be a big project so will be relying on assistance to help get this off the ground! I am more than aware that as I get older and older years it will become more tough to find what I am after.

Hope you can help!

SBS in 2008 had Les Murray, Mike Tomalaris and Craig Foster presenting their own coverage but taking 7’s feed.

So obviously that is Ken Suttcliffe. Who are the other two in the middle? Also where abouts did you find this video? I would like to please use it for my database.

Liz Hayes, Ray Martin…not sure who the guy on the right is.

Thank you! I don’t want to be too much of a pain but I want to get everything as accurate as possible. (Mods if you feel I am flooding this thread please let me know and I’ll create a dedicated thread).

This is what I’ve got for the conmmentators/presenters for Nine’s 2006 CWG. I know I am missing people so please help me out if you can! I have gone through articles but can’t seem to find much so this is from youtube videos.

Hosts:
Mark Nichollas, Gary Lyon, James Brayshaw, Ken Sutcliffe
Commentators:
Dave Culbert (Athletics), Steve Monegetti (Athletics), Matthew Keenan (Cycling), Anna Wilson (Cycling), Dwayne Russell (Hockey), Nicole Livingstone (Swimming), Darrell Eastlake (Weightlifting)
Reporters:
Tony Jones (Athletics), Tim Gilbert (Cycling)
