NRL on Nine

Tonight’s game is being hosted from the studios even though it’s being played in Sydney.

I don’t think I’ve seen that before.

Edit: Psaltis calling as well. Possibly another first, nearly always Speed or Thompson for the Sydney games.

Maybe the Australian Swimming Trials have something to do with it as that’s in Sydney also and Nine have the desk that they usually use on location for NRL there. I think the same commentators are calling the swimming as well.

Ah yes, you’re probably right re commentators…

And possibly not enough staff to facilitate an on location hosting as a result of that too.

As far as I’m aware Peter Psaltis not involved in the AUS swimming trial commentary. Which has been called on location.

Hi all, I notice something with the Origin Broadcast over the last 2-ish years and it was getting worst this year and I am wondering if it is me or other people having this issue.

I think they have a issue with the Audio Balance between the Crowd and the Commentator. Last Night, I could not hear Commentators because the Crowd Audio thru the Mic was loud. I had trouble hearing Darren Lockyer( I know he has a husky voice but the Crowd noise but muffling his commentary) but it was not just him other as well

I love getting the sport experience but has people noticing the issue with the coverage.

Agree, the commentary volume sometimes isn’t loud enough.. I guess can be hard to balance out as during regular hit ups etc it’s fine, but in the lead up to tries etc it can get drowned out by the crowd.

I can only wish but for the next broadcast deal I’d love for the NRL to put a stop to the studio call within reason.
