Shame they don’t state who is calling what game anymore.

Though I’d like to imagine that Peter Psaltis would call most of the Queensland games; as an example he would’ve called the Dolphins-Souths match last Friday night until it was moved to Sydney (Brenton Speed called).

And that none of Nine’s games this weekend are being played in QLD.

Just realised Nine listed last Sunday’s game above. Should be Eels vs Tigers this Sunday.

Don’t understand why Nine want James and Billy to wear jackets in this weather (it’s a very warm night here in Newcastle). But not Millie.

And I prefer to see the male hosts to wear a more business style collared shirt rather than a polo shirt.

It’s the same in business and professional settings, men wearing jackets while woman are often sleeveless - we don’t know that’s necessarily a nine directive either?

It’s a fashion trend which has made a bit of a comeback, think it looks fine if done well personally.

Not a jacket in sight today!

This is much better - having presenters dress more appropriately to on the conditions (its 38 degrees at the game today).

And Joey asks Freddy if the balls have sweat on them. It’s 38 degrees.

Freddy takes it down below. Pretty sure Danika could be heard laughing in the background.

But Joey isn’t wearing a business shirt

Yeah, minor issue given the heat, T shirt is a bit casual. Prepared to overlook that here!

NRL GRAND FINAL REMATCH LEADS ROUND THREE RIVALRIES

LIVE AND FREE FROM TONIGHT ON THE 9NETWORK

THURSDAY NIGHT FOOTY: STORM V PANTHERS
FRIDAY NIGHT FOOTY: BRONCOS V COWBOYS
SUNDAY ARVO FOOTY: EELS V BULLDOGS

The Storm and Panthers are shaping up for an epic NRL Grand Final rematch on Thursday Night Footy, when NRL Round 3 features the biggest rugby league rivalries with three grudge matches, live and free, on Channel 9 and 9Now this weekend.

On Thursday Night Footy from 7.30pm AEDT, the Storm get their first shot at inflicting some pain on the Panthers for their 2024 Grand Final defeat, when they host them at AAMI Park, Melbourne. Fresh from a bye, the Storm are at full strength after a crushing round 1 victory, while the Panthers are coming off a shock loss to the Roosters last week. Every Storm home game in 2025 is available for free on Channel 9 Melbourne.

Saddle up for the Queensland Derby on Friday Night Footy, when the Broncos host the Cowboys at Suncorp Stadium, Brisbane. While scenes of their epic 2015 Grand Final encounter ring loudest, both sides always bring out the best in each other when they meet regardless of their position on the ladder when Queensland rugby league’s big brother meets little brother.

In his return season with the club, the Broncos sole remaining player from the 2015 Grand Final, Ben Hunt, will be out to put on a show for Broncos fans 10 years on from that painful night.

A local rivalry born out of their 1980s domination headlines Sunday Arvo Footy when the Bulldogs meet the Eels. Captained by NSW State of Origin star Stephen Crichton, the dogs are barking loud after an undefeated start to the season and have shown grit with their defence so far. The Eels are at the opposite end of the spectrum after suffering two heavy defeats in the opening rounds, however motivation won’t be hard to find against their most hated rivals.

In commentary exclusively for Nine’s Wide World of Sports is the best in the business. Hosted by James Bracey and Danika Mason, the expert commentary line up for 2025 features rugby league Immortal Andrew Johns and fellow premiership winners Cameron Smith, Billy Slater, Phil Gould, Johnathan Thurston, Brad Fittler, Paul Gallen, Darren Lockyer, Millie Elliott and Sam Thaiday. Plus women’s internationals Ruan Sims and Allana Ferguson, sideline reporters Marlee Silva and Emma Lawrence, with Lawrence to also host the Sunday Footy Show.

This unrivalled lineup of commentators, boasting 52 Grand Final appearances as players and coaches combined, will provide viewers with insight and analysis all the way through the 2025 season with exclusive access into the dressing sheds after the game.

Calling the live action will be Mat Thompson, Brenton Speed and Peter Psaltis.

Assuming their counterparts from Fox are not doing the same.

NRL ON NINE ROUND 4: BATTLE OF BRISBANE, THE CHAMPS AND THE CHALLENGERS THIS WEEK

STREAM NRL LIVE AND FREE ON 9NOW

THURSDAY NIGHT FOOTY: RABBITOHS V PANTHERS
FRIDAY NIGHT FOOTY: DOLPHINS V BRONCOS
SUNDAY ARVO FOOTY: SEA EAGLES V EELS

The Panthers meet Bennett’s Bunnies on Thursday, the Dolphins v Broncos Battle of Brisbane on Friday and the classic Manly v Parramatta match up are all live and free on Channel 9 and 9Now this weekend in NRL Round 4.

Supercoach Wayne Bennett will need to pull out all his tricks when the Rabbitohs face the Panthers on Thursday Night Footy from 7.30pm AEDT. The Panthers are without Nathan Cleary but still have the man voted best player in the world last year - Isaah Yeo to lead the way while the club’s depth is tested early in the season following back to back losses.

The Rabbitohs hit a road block against the Sharks last week and are keen to bounce back as Cody Walker, Jack Wighton and emerging halfback Jamie Humphreys are tasked with bringing glory to South Sydney against the reigning Premiers.

The Battle of Brisbane between the Dolphins and Broncos is all set to light up Friday Night Footy from Suncorp Stadium. The Dolphins are winless so far and desperate to get off the canvas to start their 2025 campaign. A win against their cross town rivals would be very sweet, but Broncos stars Reece Walsh, Pat Carrigan and the returning Kotoni Staggs have got other ideas in their bid to show who is the top dog in Brisbane.

In a massive week of news for the Manly Sea Eagles, they will headline Sunday Arvo Footy following the announcement that their longest standing player in history, Daly Cherry-Evans, will depart the club at the end of the year. The Sea Eagles are boosted by the return of Tom Trbojevic from injury for their home clash against the winless Eels.

Promos for tonight seem more OTT than usual.

Exactly, because it isn’t a blockbuster, no Latrell or Cam Murray for Souths, and no Dylan Edwards or Nathan Cleary for Penrith, neither team is in great form coming off losses (2 in a row in Penrith’s case).

Challenging conditions tonight

What set are they coming from? Somewhere within Suncorp judging by caps.
