As expected, tribute to Ray Warren to be included in tonight’s telecast.

Don’t like the graphics being blue: they should be white or something for Origin. Neutral.

Easily explained that Nines imagery is predominantly blue. But yes, they should have thought to use something different

As Kim would say, NOICE.

Will be interesting to see if these are Origin only graphics or if they will adopt them for the remaining NRL club rounds and finals.

Hopefully. They may hold them off until after the last game though.

Very similar to the old cricket graphics from a few years ago.

Looks like it might have been leaked a few weeks ago…

Great piece.

It would also have been a great opportunity for Nine introduce Mat Thompson on screen to boost his profile. They didn’t say who was calling tonight, not everyone will know it’s going to be Mat.

Great tribute. Ray Warren has commentated on numerous amount of events for 55 years — Horse racing, swimming, Olympic Games and Rugby League. We all knew what happened at the start of the year when Ray Warren isn’t in the box. But last week, he announced that he will sign off for the final time. Thank you Ray.
In the past few years, Matt Thompson has called a few Rugby League matches and is slowly positioning as the chief number 1 caller on Nine.

The tribute concentrated on Ray’s SOO experiences, so perhaps another laster in the year another to include his the rest of NRL - perhaps on GF day.

He is the only member of Nine’s commentary team who doesn’t have an on screen profile.

Nine has posted its tribute to Ray Warren on Twitter.

Peter Psaltis doesn’t have one either (and I don’t think you can count his QLD Cup coverage).

I think there was an edict a few years back that Mat is never to appear on screen.

80 minutes of coverage and still the game hasn’t begun.

The usual drawn-out pre-match coverage! The National Anthem to come too, so the match wont start until at least 8.15. So 85 minutes of coverage, which could all have been easily squeezed into a 30 minute segment, from 7.30 with an 8pm kick-off.
