UPDATE 29/10: according to OzTAM, the AFL Grand Final had a live VPM audience of 57,000 which equated to 2.293 million minutes. It had a peak (BVOD Reach) of 90,000.
And that was for connected TVs (like Telstra TV, Fetch, PS4). The numbers would have been much higher if Seven was able to stream the match on mobiles and tablets as well.
The massive live BVOD ratings for the NRL Grand Final again demonstrates the importance of getting full digital rights. When the AFL rights are up for renewal in 2023 or 2024, Seven has to get the full suite from the AFL and not let Telstra getting away with it again.
