NRL on Nine

Wonder who’s calling the Pacific Tests on Nine.
Matt Thompson is doing the Womens Origin and Rabs the main event.
Wonder if Matt might pull triple duty this weekend or if Joel Caine might do one

Good on Nine for putting it on the main channel though in NSW and QLD. Seven seems to have had reasonable success with the AFLW on the main channel.

I was thinking Joel Caine.

NRL chief executive Todd Greenberg first revealed Brisbane’s Magic Weekend in a radio interview on Sunday. He initially said the round would be held on May 17-19, 2019, before ABC commentator Andrew Moore said that Suncorp Stadium would not be available because Queensland Reds would play NSW Waratahs in a Super Rugby clash on May 18. So after a couple of calls, the NRL finally settled on May 10-12 next year.

I guess Matt Thompson for the Women’s Origin match. Not sure about the two Tests on Saturday?

Who’s covering the test matches today on Nine?

I guess Matt Thompson?

I think Joel Caine called Papua New Guinea v Fiji this afternoon.

ALternate feed so no ads, no Gus and ray arguing

What alternate feed are you referring to?

Also Ray Warren: “So there are two questions to be answered… Will NSW wrap the series up tonight, or will QLD take it to a decider?”…

Sorry Ray, that’s one question.

82223 people attended the game at ANZ Stadium, which was a fantastic turnout. NSW Blues have got the ingredients to being a very good team. For the first time since 2014, NSW have regained the State of Origin series with an 18-14 win over the QLD Maroons.

Telecast has finished at 11:15 PM more than 30 mins overtime.

Nine wants to abandon Sunday State of Origin, moving it back to Wednesday. But the ARLC chair Peter Beattie wants Nine to consider agreeing to a 4:00pm start for Sunday State of Origin in a bid to boost ratings. I think the ratings will go down if it is played on Sunday afternoon.

Hasn’t every State Of Origin game over the past 38 years been played at night?

Despite the massive lead-in to the news a Sunday 4pm Origin game would deliver in Sydney & Brisbane, I personally doubt Nine would agree to hold one then.
