I’d be surprised if Voss would want to go back to Nine after he got shafted for Ray Hadley.
No mention of Mat Thompson - if Nine doesn’t think he’s good enough or has a high enough profile, that is totally their own fault.

V’landys is an idiot. His sport looks like a turd now that the AFL deal has been signed. He signed some sort of ridiculous extension with Fox and Nine had no choice but to sign as a minor partner onto this so it would align before going to market again in 2027. He’s a fool and NRL is missing out on millions.

Was a bad TV rights deal. Stan Sport locked out of streaming, thus denying Nine exclusive rights to the NRL

I believe there was no Stan Sport prior to the Foxtel extension.
Definitely seems like a panic deal in hindsight.
Didn’t need to rush.
Also at the time, there was a lot of animosity between the NRL and 9. Hugh Marks even threatening to tear up the contract.

Yes Stan sport came 6 months after the deal was signed with Fox.
Signing a 7 year deal with Fox in the depths of the pandemic should cost V’Landys his job.

Always felt the deal was rushed and panicked, Hopefully he does not negotiate the next deal. You would think Paramount would be keen next time around but that will be years away.

If the deal was financially sound then it would’ve been announced. They’ve hidden it. The NRL is a disaster and will continue to be so. It amateur hour down there.
