“Best of” from the weekend show?

I doubt it.

It’s scheduled every weekday and wouldn’t Matty J be in the name?

It’s either live before they do Fitzy and Wippa or recorded afterwards for the next morning.

If it’s new, it would have to be recorded.

I can’t see Sarah doing an extra hour, and starting an hour earlier. Breakfast radio people already complain about the early starts and the main show would suffer as a result.

Matt does the news breaks to midday as well, so 5am to 12noon would be a huge day for him. He could record stuff in between news breaks though.

Either way it’s fresher than having KTM repeats twice a day. It’s a good move and they are clearly thinking about life after the boys.

Nova played a remix version of a song they’ve been playing incessantly for nearly eighteen months. Lewis Capaldi - Someone You Loved (future Humans Remix).

It even led to a discussion from Fitzy asking “Did we even need a remix of that song?” and him responding “I don’t think so”. Had exactly the same thought as soon as I heard it.

Nova making another move towards sounding like 2Day again. :weary:

Agree, I thought the same thing. I may be late on the scene but it looks like one music log for the network is now a real thing? I wonder what their MD’s are doing during the day? Bris / Per / Adl seemed to be going ok last year, it will be interesting to see how the one music log goes for them this year. Time will tell!

I think the one music log across the whole network will backfire on them greatly, especially in Brisbane where Nova 106.9 sounded the closest to the original Nova.

I think it will bomb also in Sydney and Melbourne, but do ok in Adelaide and Perth.

Sydney, Melbourne, and Brisbane need their own logs, Perth and Adelaide can share logs based on the size and similarity of their markets.

There must have been lots of complaints from listeners in Brisbane regarding the music changes to Nova 106.9, not only have they reintroduced the Brisbane log, throwback Thursday has now returned after being axed at the end of 2019.
All they need to do now is reintroduce repeat free 9-3.
Obviously they made some rash decisions after the poor performance in the last survey, I am assuming their internal research looked grim and now it’s damage control to prevent a very bad first survey.

BTW in today’s Nova’s rate the hits survey, they asked for comments on workdays.
I did not hold back and told them why they lost me as a listener to Triple J,
. Too many overplayed throwbacks, Shaggy it wasn’t me repeated daily.
. Not breaking new fresh hits, that’s why I listen to Triple J for new music.
. If they have to play so many throwbacks have a greater variety of throwbacks, play some rock, dance throwbacks, examples I suggested closing time by Semisonic, Wrap me up by Alex Party.
. Sound different like when you first started, and stop trying to be Kiis.

Tim Ross from the old 96.9 breakfast team Merrick and Rosso was a guest on Fitzy and Wippa this morning. Very subtle dig by Rosso and Fitzy on the current Nova playlist when Fitzy had to back announce Jonas Brothers. He made a crack about them being back and Fitzy asked him whether he remembers back announcing the Jonas Brothers and Rosso shut that down with a “never” happened.

Nova general manager Jay Walkerden under internal investigation.

LONG-SERVING Brisbane general manager of Nova Entertainment Jay Walkerden is under an internal investigation following an alleged incident involving one of the announcers on 106.9’s top-rating Ash, Kip, Luttsy & Susie breakfast radio show.
