I reckon Fitzy and Whippa at 3 and extending KTM to 7 would have worked too
Na you canât have repeats in the middle of the day. People would just flick to Hit and KIIS.
6-10am is generally a standard breakfast shift in the NZ market. The 9-10am hour is a music dominant hour but the voice breaks are done by the breakfast team and depending on the station can be pre-recorded along with using segments they did earlier in the morning.
And at 3 hours, itâs not a show, itâs a shift
A bit better this week with less old tracks on 96.9.
Started off being 50/50 fresh vs old tracks which was good.
But now playing more recent old hits so 30/70 fresh vs old.
I donât understand why they want to skew so old now by playing so many more 90s and even 80s tracks. Sounding too much like 2Day v2.
DC doing 9am shift even though Smallzy is back tonight.
So Iâm thinking DC is doing 9-3pm with Smallzy off morningâs?
Thatâs such a long shift and so bad for their audience. Who wants to listen to the same person all day?
KIIS do it in both Melbourne and Sydney.
It seems that Mel is on 9 til 3 in Melbourne now judging by the website, which doesnât seem to work properly on mobile and wonât switch from the Sydney station
The site was just updated.
5am - 6am Kate, Tim and Marty
6am - 9am Fitzy and Wippa
9am - 12pm DC
12-3pm Smallzy
3pm - 6pm Kate, Tim and Marty
6pm - 7pm Fitzy and Wippa
7pm - 10pm Smallzy
Updated in Melbourne too, Mel listed as 1-3
Jamie Row now doing 9am-1pm in Melbourne. No one listed as his replacement for 1-3pm in Adelaide.
Ben & Liam also listed as 5-6am in Adelaide - presumably highlights in lieu of KTM
Jarrod Walsh doing 1-3pm in Adelaide now.
Why not 9-12 so Mel has 12-3?
Itâs odd. Makes more sense to have 9-12 and 12-3.
All afternoon shifts (except Sydney) are 1-3pm. Maybe they have those jocks doing other duties such as paneling KTM (which really shouldnât be necessary with Zetta).
Would Smallzy be live now at nights now he is doing 12-3pm?
I looked at the logs for Nova 96.9 and 106.9, and they played exactly the same songs in the same order on both stations during the breakfast shift.
It is safe to say now that Nova 106.9 is now taking the Sydney / Melbourne log. Irene bringing SCA programming to Nova entertainment with one playlist for all stations.
I guess they are sick of us continuing to ask for the Brisbane playlist on Nova 96.9 / Nova 100, so they cancel the Brisbane playlist all together, that will shut up the trolls on Mediaspy!!!
Survey 1 for Brisbane will be an interesting read.
They must be spewing in Brisbane now.
This morning we had the exact same âFresh Hitâ kicking off both shifts:
2020-01-20 06:08:33AEDT Dua Lipa - Donât Start Now 3m 3s 2019
2020-01-20 09:10:59AEDT Dua Lipa - Donât Start Now 3m 3s 2019
There were only 8 songs in between that you could class as âFresh Hitsâ because they are in the top 50 right now. Why would you play that song again three hours later and at such an obvious place at the start of the shifts?
Then we also had:
2020-01-20 06:38:54AEDT The Weeknd - Blinding Lights 3m 22s 2019
2020-01-20 09:25:52AEDT The Weeknd - Blinding Lights 3m 22s 2019
FFS
Well, that will only give the Brisbane listeners a reason to bag Nova as well. These âThrowbacksâ are as repetitive as the fresh hits now and listeners will get very tired of the same artists on high rotation.
I flick stations now every time I hear: Justin Timberlake, Britney Spears, Lady GaGa, Black Eyed Peas, Jason Derulo, Rihanna, Jennifer Lopez, Beyonce, Usher, Pink, Bruno Mars, Mackelmore.
Why would anybody want to SexyBack and Poker Face 20 times in the last week?
The people in Brisbane are going to hate it. They will notice the difference from before.
I did notice Nova 106.9 replaced Pumped up Kicks with Need you tonight by INXS, otherwise exact same playlist.
I am predicting further drops for Nova in Brisbane for survey 1, 4KQ possibly beating them in dayparts.
Well, that doesnât make much sense either. Pumped up Kicks is a good alternative song which doesnât get repeated to death. They would have been better off replacing one of those artists I listed above.
