New look Nova website has launched: https://www.novafm.com.au/
not sure if the geo tracking is working well, Iām in Melbourne getting Nova 969, I try to switch to Nova 100, get the right logo but āAdelaide newsā appears.
Suspect thatās still being ironed out. I notice the change stations functionality is pretty much broken right now - everything is Nova 100 for me even if I change to another market.
You can force the change on some pages: eg. https://www.novafm.com.au/perth/shows/
I had no idea Nikolina ex-Edge 96.1 was doing late nights on Nova96.9.
Is that Nikolina who is a producer with Fitzy and Wippa?
Not sure if this is the sign thatās been removed, but the āNOVA 96.9ā text based on the original/launch logo from 2001 was still on the building when I looked towards Pyrmont from Sydney Tower in early September!
You canāt really see it in this picture, but the bit of red on the building just to the right of Tenās:
Nova 96.9 is again making the playlist safer and boring during Smallyz morning show. Gone is the 10am listener takeover, and Throwback Thursday were they would play a rare throwback. Now more of the same old same old, overplayed hits and stale throwbacks that you here all the time.
Normally I would listen to Nova between 9-12 today it was Triple J.
And Fitzy and Wippa are playing fairly old songs on high rotation as if they were āfresh hitsā. They should not be playing Body by Loud Luxury and Wolves by Selena Gomez/Marshmello every week, but they are.
Nah I was referring to the one on the other side visible from traffic crossing the ANZAC Bridge.
I forgot about that one on the other side. Weird that it has not been updated there.
Their ANZAC Bridge sign has been put back up. Iām guessing it was maintenance.
There is so many inconsistencies in the programming of Nova 969, whenever they try something slightly different with the programming they then flip flop back to the same old.
There is lots of commercial friendly music on Triple J, and non rnb music on The Edge that could be played on Nova so you could cut down the repetition to 4 hour spins.
Look at the ratings Triple J ahead of Nova Sydney in day parts. Triple J ahead of Hit 90.9 on the Gold Coast.
Triple M equal or ahead of Nova 96.9 in day parts, and they think that giving away holidays will boost the ratings. It is the music that is the problem!!!
What they should be doing in 2020 is finding out what their listeners want and focus on the music.
Yes.
As the latest Music Radio Crossovers for Melbourne provided by @TV-Expert shows. Nova has the most crossovers with Fox and KIIS and therefore the least. Sadly, Nova is the least different CHR radio station these days.
On the other hand, Nova 106.9 started doing āRepeat Free Till 3ā on Monday. They definitely could and should have taken the opportunity to play more newer music than they are, though.
Nova 969 could never do that with their playlist of 30 songs.
Speaking of songs that arenāt new, Khe Sanh got a run this morning just after 6!
Surprised this appears to be slipping under the radar.
Very shocking mistake, but it doesnāt surprise me given the culture present at a lot commercial radio stations.
Agree. Did see this on Monday night. Appalling lack of attention to detail. How do the production boys have time to waste on joke reads in this age of corner cutting? Clearly they have it good in Adelaide.
I donāt imagine the people involved are still with Nova, given the āurgent and serious actionā taken by management.
This has to be the best example of staff doing stupid things Iāve heard in a whole. What did they think was going to happen? What were they going to do with it? Heck, even if they recorded it just to share with mates thereās a risk it would get leaked and people would be easily be able to connect it with who voiced and recorded it. Even if the VO got frustrated and decided to be funny during the recording thereās no reason for it to make its way onto an exported file.
Hardly a coincidence thereās an Audio Producer job going at Nova Adelaide then
