One suburb that trips up many non-locals is Kyeemagh and it often is mentioned in traffic reporrs. For the record, it’s Kye-EE-mah. You always know they are not Sydneysiders when you hear that one butchered.
There are two pronunciations that really annoy me. Nasty when it is pronounced nass-ty and not nah-sty. The other is anti which is being pronounced as An-tye instead of An-ti. That really pisses annoys the hell out of me.
