Would you do that if you are part of the highest-rated show in the daypart you work in, the station attracted a hefty sum from advertisers as a result, and then you are dragged into a meeting to be told you have no useful service to them anymore?
(Considering one of your workmates have not been told any changes were coming, while we are at it.)
Well Perth brekky hasnāt featured Nathan since the start of the year despite still being referred to as Nathan, Nat & Shaun. I wonder if Joel Creasey or Ross will become a permanent host and the show has a rebrand in 2026, I doubt Nathan will return to radio as there has been no update about whether or not heās returning and the information provided about any issues have been sparse.
They are all being extremely unprofessional. I understand theyāre full of emotion, however, the behaviour of these stars is definitely questionable and other networks are watching. Any potential possibilities elsewhere dwindle with such behaviour.
Maybe itās unprofessional but I canāt imagine personally being able to just carry on āprofessionallyā without having to pretend I wasnāt deeply affected by something that sudden happening to me.
We should also look at the fact that a lot of these radio networks still act like itās the cut throat radio is king era behind the scenes, and continue to treat quality talent like trash.
It goes both ways. Given how he was gaslit throughout the year by the company about his security, itās not the worst response to have.
Is there a reason Nova have now seemed to start DJ mashups with a DJ I couldnāt catch the name of.
Itās the same on Hit, Nova and KIIS now. Thank god for Triple M & community
Come on, of course Luttsy knew, many have known for a long time. The departure of Nick from Newcastle confirmed the poorly kept secret. At least Ash was able to somewhat dictate how he would depart. Not all take the Robin Bailey option.
Fitzy and Wippa talked about attending a photo shoot yesterday for next year. Gave the impression that nothing is changing but their photos are being updated.
Imagine the howls of outrage from the incumbents if you even thought about introducing more radio competition.
Hereās an interesting hypothetical (and mods maybe this isnāt the thread to start this convo) - what do you reckon a new FM licence in a capital city would sell for these days? Obviously theyāre far less lucrative than they were 20-odd years ago with the decline of profitability of broadcast radio, but I reckon thereād be one or more AM stations keen to buy them to get onto FM which might drive up the price.
