It has evolved and there always new segments. There are more contributions these days from Sarah, Tom and Matt which keeps it fresh.
Always has given me a ‘boofy’ vibe.

In cumulative ratings Fitzy & Wippa were 2nd behind K&JO during the most recent radio survey (Source) so if those sorts of figures are common, it likely explains how they’ve been on Nova Sydney brekky for nearly a decade now.

They did for a while but then went back to normal. Maybe they’re doing one Friday off in the month.
ETA: I just scrolled back and saw that they had two days off, four weeks ago. So maybe they have an agreement to do that for the rest of the year in lieu of the weeklong holidays they normally took out of survey.

Fitzy and Wippa on 96.9 are back in the studio today after taking Friday, Monday and Tuesday off.

I was very critical of the hiring of Joel Creasy, I’ve been catching up on all the podcast episodes and I’ll admit it’s actually worked okay. Kate and Tim are holding the show together, Joel is clearly a weaker presence but Tim has stepped up immensely and Kate has opened up more and seems to be enjoying herself more. It’s different but working.

Was Marty always from a Melb studio? Or did he go to Sydney?

It just that Joel is new and is still finding his feet. I think he’s doing really well and there is a new, fresh dynamic to the team. Kate has really stepped up and contributes a lot more than she had in the past. I’ve been listening to the show more now.
Kate has definitely taken more control lately, probably due to Joel who loses momentum.

The last time I looked Nova 106.9 was taking practically the same playlist as Nova 96.9, but they would play one or two different throwbacks during the workday.
On Thursday’s Nova 106.9 and Nova 93.7 still do Throwback Thursday’s and play Throwback Triple plays each hour during the workday.
Nova 96.9, Nova 100 and Nova 919 run the same log 24/7.

It’s a joke. He said something last week, which they didn’t like, so they made a gag about him leaving. Then they had a team lunch last week, which they then joked was his farewell lunch. Then listeners got involved on social media either not realising it was a joke or playing along with it. It snowballed from there and they’ve been joking all week that his last day would be Friday.

I’m keen to know why people on here in the past have wanted Kate, Tim and Joel (and Kate, Tim and Marty before he left) to be expanded to a 3-6pm slot?
Wouldn’t a 2 hour slot (4-6) be enough to fill with meaningful content and songs, instead of trying to awkwardly pad things out over 3 hours and have gaps? Three hours is a long time.
And wouldn’t a benefit from starting at 4pm mean more people are in their cars to be able to catch the start of the show? I’m pretty sure more people are on the road at 4pm than there are at 3pm.
For the record I tune into KIIS mostly these days, so I’m keen to hear what Nova listeners think about this.

If they’re awkwardly padding things out over 3 hours, that would just be poor planning on their part.
I haven’t listened much lately, but they’re always running late, out of time, could only take one call etc. When you’ve got a good story, it would be good to stretch it out over a couple breaks and take those extra calls

Yes, it still happens.
And Tim is there anyway from 3pm to intro and play the “highlights” from previous days. He some times has Joel or Kate to join him early. So why not just do the show from 3pm. If they struggle for content, they can then play some highlights.
