Yes, which didn’t happen when Marty brought him down to earth. You have Joel just screeching and Ricki Lee screaming and him doing whatever he wants with the show. It sounds terrible. He needs a steady hand alongside him, Kate helps but they need a more considered comic.

Yeah, it did. Except it was both Marty and Tim who would gang up to bully and gaslight Kate. It’s quite well known that every female co-host who worked with Marty eventually felt the same way: Fifi, Meshel and Kate.
I think you’re conflating taking the piss out of, and gaslighting. No wonder you’re a fan of Joel’s pissweak comedy he uses ghostwriters forZ

Some interesting music choices in the first hour of Smallzy’s Surgery tonight:
- Sweet but Psycho by Ava Max (she’ll be in the country this weekend for Sydney WorldPride)
- Just a Little by Liberty X (I swear, Nova played this song just a week or two ago during its throwbacks hour)

- Black Magic by Little Mix (honestly, I NEVER get sick of this song, even though it’ll be eight years old this May)

It looks like a new Instagram account has been created @katefitzyandwippa and @fitzywippaandkate under a Nova email address. Could definitely just be a squatter still, or just preemptive username reservation and not the final name of the show. But I remember they did miss out on the @katetimandjoel or @katetimjoel username to a troll who was critical of the show when it was announced.

I hope they don’t plan to give Kate top billing though. It would have to be Fitzy, Wippa and Kate.

Is Kate that good a radio talent? It seems Nova is happy to piss staff off to keep Kate. Is she worth it? Is she too expensive to pay out? Do they have no other options?

The Kate situation sounds like she’s seeing out her contract honestly and will wrap when it’s done - perhaps end of year and then I expect Fitzy and Wippa will leave then too. Perhaps move Ben and Liam to 969 then.

Fitzgerald and Wipfli are both said to be unhappy with the move as they remain loyal to McGilvray.
The three of them are friends away from the show anf often socialise so not surprised Fitzy and Wippa are not happy. Sarah married one of Wippa’s old friends and she had become clise friends with Fitzy’s wife. She only recently moved back to the same inner west suburb after a few years on the North Shore.
While it is unclear why Ritchie is leaving the Kate, Tim and Joel drive show, which she co-hosted with Tim Blackwell and Joel Creasey, her move to breakfast was apparently orchestrated by Nova management because she still has a year left on her contract and they needed something for her to do
It’s Merrick and Rosso all over again with Nova management interfering and eventually ruining a good thing.
They could even go to Triple M. Both stations are struggling at Breakfast.

F&W will probably not have the same chemistry with Kate as they did with Sarah. I think there could be some backlash in coming surveys.
I think most people are now forming the view that this could be the final year of F&W on Nova, where would they go? Would 2day stick with their current breakfast show, or jump at the opportunity to sign F&W.
Triple M is all about sport, Fitzy might fit there but what about Wippa?
Would the Adelaide Market be too small for F&W? Fitzy can be close to his family there?
Anyway if F&W leave, Nova, 969 will be completely stuffed . It will become the new basket case of Sydney radio and most likely be outraged by 2day fm.
It will also mean even bigger shares for KJO, and KIIS too.

All this talk about KIIS networking Kyle and Jackie O into Melbourne, yet the more likely outcome is Nova networking Ben, Liam and Belle into Sydney.

I agree that could be a possibility, Nova 100 is not a rating sensation in Melbourne so if it costs them a couple of ratings points it is probably a ROI on wages.
Sydney and Melbourne are pretty much networked except for breakfast anyway.

Are we sure Sarah was pushed out? Every chance she just decided it was time to move on and resign, then Nova deciding they can put Kate in breakfast.

Apparently she was informed that her position on the show was gone, management offered her a managerial role, but she refused it and left the network according to the updated Daily Mail article.
This is going to turn into a PR disaster for Nova.
When they do the social media launch for Kate joining the show, there will be many angry comments from listeners.
I think this could even hurt them in the ratings.
