Nine (WIN)

No it wouldn’t be, because that didn’t happen.

Just had an ad for the Spelling Superheroes which just sounded a bit odd, then I worked out the sound was out of sync… Then the last line “July 17 on Ten” and a quarter of a second out of sync “July 17 on WIN”. The two audio tracks were played at the same time on the same ad if that makes sense. This was during HYBPA on TDT.

Assuming there is new affiliation agreement for the missing Nine areas by Thursday, I wonder if WIN will put WIN all over their Nine channels, not a watermark cover-up, but maybe the slide-in and out WIN Network logo they have had just after some commercial breaks on Gem and GO!.

wow that’s odd, wonder how that got into the SCA broadcast centre for TDT to play anything out related to win.

Yeah, I wish it had happened during Master Chef because then I would have had it recorded, it was really weird. Was still the Ten logo and no WIN logos but it definitely had two audio streams playing.

Given that TDT is part owned by WIN, they would have enough control to get WIN promos played on TDT. Maybe they were trying to advertise that the show will be moving to WIN next week, but somewhere along the lines the wrong tracks have been selected when exporting that promo. (The original source file probably contains the audio and end boards for both TEN and WIN).

I don’t see why that would happen. They’re not part of the WIN Network. In general, the joint-venture Tens have never contained any promotional material for the parent companies channels.

Do we know if the 7am or the 11.30pm run of All Australian News is the first run play?

I’m guessing the 11.30pm is the first run as they must tape
The show early evening. Can’t see it being live at 7am

That said, I think they show change the name to Win Morning News, have a national news ticker, clock and weather flipper that can be added live and perhaps in time go to a live show at 7am with news headlines, weather, interviews and mixed with the lifestyle news
Pieces from around the win news rooms

The Australian is reporting Nine has signed a deal with joint venture partners WIN and Prime for broadcast of Nine into the Mildura area.

No deal yet signed for WA, SA Griffith and Tasmania.

Nine reaches affiliate deal to run signal into regional Victoria

Nine Network has agreed to an affiliate deal with a joint venture operated by Bruce Gordon’s WIN Corporation and Prime Media Group to run its signal into Mildura in Victoria.

It is still yet to secure a deal for WA, SA, Griffith and Tasmania.

What are the chances 9HD and 9Life will begin on the same day? Really hope it was a conditional part of the new agreement.

WIN have already be broadcasting HD and Life in SA, Griffith and Mildura, so I’d say there’s a good chance of these channels staying since WIN will still be managing playout.

WA has also had Life, so it should stay, though not exactly sure how the logistics of changing it’s LCN will go on VAST and the VAST fed sites.

TDT Tasmania’s playout is managed by SCA, they won’t get HD and Life until at when the SCA Nine regions do.

You’re right, Griffith and SA will probably continue like that. But the joint-ventures are still not part of the WIN Network. I can’t see WIN handing a Nine multi-channel over to the joint-venture, despite the multi-channel being well established at MediaHub. For example, there’s no Gold here in WA, so I am thinking WIN will replace 9Life for TVSN and Extra for Gold. Everything else will be left for West Digital Television to implement. In 2 days.

It shouldn’t be that difficult considering it’s a closed subscriber based platform. I do know the WA transponder is full to the max. It will be interesting to see how they’re going to squeeze in 9HD and/or 9Life. Might see iShop or Gold removed.

Oh god!!! Ten produced a news promo for WIN but haven’t bothered for their own network. Mental cases run that place. Legit… They have pschological problems.
