Sounds like with the affiliation swap, and WIN losing viewers, someone put the feelers out and the response they got was something like “WIN is now on channel 5”. So someone’s brainchild was to stick a giant blue ■■■■■■■■■ on the screen to try and show the viewers that, hey we are still on channel 8.

I guess after all those years using the Mappy logo even before the Nine 2006 rebrand, that hasn’t been enough to solidify the WIN brand to viewers as its instead known as “that blue thing.”
