A fresh chapter in the story of the most prestigious Grand Slam tennis tournament in the world is ready to be written at Wimbledon, when Nine serves up two weeks of greatness from Monday June 29, from 7.30pm AEST - live and free on Channel 9 and 9Now, with every match live and on demand on Stan Sport.
As the home of Grand Slam tennis, Nine’s Wide World of Sports will be on the ground at the hallowed grass courts of the All England Lawn Tennis Club to deliver unparalleled Wimbledon access.
In commentary is former Wimbledon Doubles Champion Todd Woodbridge, Wimbledon singles semi-finalist Jelena Dokic, and former pro Alicia Molik for insights, analysis and interviews with the biggest names in world tennis as the tournament unfolds. Brenton Speed will call matches live while viewers will be kept up to date by hosts Sam McClure and Brett Phillips.
With the pen in hand are the best players on the planet, world no.1 Jannik Sinner, freshly crowned French Open champion Alexander Zverev, Ben Shelton, Novak Djokovic, Aussie Alex de Minaur, Taylor Fritz and Daniil Medvedev in the men’s draw.
All eyes in the women’s draw will be on the comeback of 23-time Grand Slam champion Serena Williams, when she lines up in a field that includes world no.1 Aryna Sabalenka, defending champion Iga Swiatek, Mirra Andreeva, Coco Gauff, Elena Rybakina and Jess Pegula. Williams will also team up with her sister, Venus, in the women’s doubles.
Joining De Minaur to fly the Aussie flag in the men’s singles is Alexei Popyrin, Thanasi Kokkinakis, Alexander Vukic, James Duckworth, Adam Walton and Rinky Hijikata. Keep an eye out for wildcard Nick Kyrgios in the men’s doubles when he lines up with Alexander Bublik.
While Maya Joint, Talia Gibson, Daria Kasatkina, Kimberly Birrell and Ajla Tomljanovic will be gunning for Aussie glory In the women’s singles draw.

I don’t think the ‘ad-free’ component of this statement is correct.
Stan started inserting ads between sets during the Australian Open this year. They then went a step further with their Roland Garros coverage and started inserting ads during changeovers. There was essentially no difference between Stan and FTA Channel 9 in terms of ad breaks for Roland Garros, so I can’t see them walking this back for Wimbledon.
There is also no mention of ad free coverage in Stan’s Wimbledon press release:

This Wimbledon might be full of Upsets and Surprises because many Players are getting Tired and injured the Tennis Tour goes the Whole Year and the Modern Players are getting Sick of the Schedule and are Speaking up about it.

I wish Roland Garros got the same amount of coverage as Wimbledon. I am someone who finds clay court tennis more interesting than grass court but casual Tennis fans obviously have an undue amount of interest in Wimbledon compared to Roland Garros or the US Open.
It’s also the way they’ve been covered in Australia for many decades, which has or hasn’t helped.
Australians have more history with grass court tennis and Wimbledon.
I was especially getting Stan Sports to watch Grand Slam tennis for ad free coverage,I might as well not bother anymore .
Yeah, I personally think it’s absolutely disgraceful. Especially for those on the so-called ‘Premium’ plan. $42/month to be subjected to a similar amount of ads as the FTA broadcast. Stan are taking the piss.
It’s not every change over. At the end of the day, it’s the business model that will be deciding this.
For me, I don’t care about ad breaks at change of ends but depends on timing of that. Nothing worse than there being an argument with the umpire or an exciting point happening and then going to an ad break. As long as they are place correctly, I don’t care.
It was happening on most changeovers during Roland Garros, and I can only see it happening more frequently from here. It’s certainly not going to decrease.
You just know that this is going to happen at some stage. Perhaps you might start to care when your viewing experience is inevitably disrupted and negativity impacted.
I can’t stand the ongoing enshittification of these streaming platforms. Prices keep going up while service quality continues to decline. No wonder piracy is making a comeback.
Is TJ not at Wimbledon?
Not since the Novak Djokovic controversy at last year’s Australian Open. Can’t remember whether he chose not to go to Wimbledon on his own accord or whether Nine simply chose not to send him to London.
