Puzzled as to why Nine haven’t once promoted/mentioned their 9Now streaming during on air? (Seven heavily promoted their 7Tennis, host would constantly say “this is on 7, this it on Two and you can see this on the app”.
I get that it might be more appropriate for the Aus Open, but the Brisbane International has had other courts to stream and yet nothing mentioned? Conspiracy: Nine don’t want viewers away from the broadcast multi-channels for these lead-up events (ratings)? Or they just don’t see much of a point as mentioned?
Erin Molan hosting this afternoon’s Brisbane International coverage on 9Go! (She’s been doing prime time this week). Unknown who will do tonight, Tim Gilbert swapped perhaps?
So did Erin go home at some stage this arvo? She has been doing some very late nights (early mornings actually) and being a new mother, plus being asked to come back in some hours later for midday today…
One of the tennis lead-up tournaments last year had the final deliver one of Seven’s multi-channels a 10%+ share! (One of only two for the year IIRC, the other being AFL Anzac Eve)?
Though it could still happen again with another Aussie or big name with Brisbane International and Sydney International finals still on multi-channels I imagine.
I managed to flick over and catch that too! So poor, that whole segment going through tomorrow’s matches before telecast end, completely butchered one name and had to try again.
He hasn’t been announced for the Aus Open team. Maybe feature interviews or roving?
There were some complaints on Twitter late last night / early this morning that Nine did not show on-court interviews with Team Greece on TV after it upset Team Switzerland in mixed doubles in the Hopman Cup, clinching the tie 2-1. The on-court interview with Maria Sakkari and Stefanos Tsitsipas was shown live on Eurosport though and can now be seen on the tournament’s social media channels.
Team Switzerland however still reached Saturday’s final after Roger Federer beat Tsitsipas 7-6 7-6 earlier in the night.
