So then how do they make up the lost time then? They can’t run the tournament an extra day?
Start earlier on outdoor courts?
All of the outside courts have lights so play will continue into the night. Some matches might end up being moved to a different court to that originally scheduled if one becomes available to get them played. Worst case a couple might end up being played first up tomorrow.

I just went through all the matches for today and there are I would say at least 8 but it could be up to 10 matches to be rescheduled.
See Nine getting quite a bit of heat for cutting that match there after four hours. Surely common sense is to stick with it for 5 minutes - why does the news have to be at 6pm on the dot? Even worse they’re not moving it to another channel and just airing it online.
Wasn’t it for the other end, news ending and coverage going back to the main channel? I was watching on mobile on 9Go! stream and had to do the quick flick.

Some outside court action resuming, after a series of heat and rain delays, as well as long match delays, including 3 Australians including Kokkinakis.
At 10pm local, with main channel broadcast sticking to aussie Popyrin (who is still very early in his match), is this not very unfortunate, as many might not realise and there might be some nodding off for the evening. And they could all go out tonight.
There’s been some amazing matches so far and only Night 2, but things have got off to a really ridiculous start (and not for the better) for Nine and TA. And early rain forecast tomorrow! But then a long stretch of beautiful weather thankfully

I agree.
They’re showing Australian Alexei Popyrin on Nine, and Thanasi Kokkinakis on 9Gem. Quite a few Aussies tonight across many of the courts tonight. But Popyrin doesn’t really have that '“high profile name” (yet). Should have shown the Djpkovic match when it began.
