It was 7pm Qld time and not dark when it usually is …can’t of been live.
I know it’s not part of the technical issues but since it was picked up in here. News.com.au have a story about Hitch.
It’s not the first time a presenter has gone home unwell mid-bulletin. I remember at least once that Peter Murphy jumped in the chair on SC News Tas when Jo or Rachel went home sick mid-bulletin. Good that Clint was able to jump straight in, and they could get a sports presenter and while I’m sure they’d all be willing to jump in at any time in normal circumstances if that happened, you could just imagine the already heightened tensions and adrenaline so it was good to see it a relatively seamless transition in an ad-break.
Different network, but didn’t Roger Climpson once became unwell during a bulletin on Seven and Cameron Williams had to step in to finish it? I remember someone mentioning it on this forum before.
Certainly not the first time it’s happened but Clint did a great job.
I want to say Peter Overton had a coughing fit once and somebody (Erin?) had to jump in for a story or two. Might be totally making that up though, I’m sure somebody will remember more clearly than me.
There was one instance (maybe a year or so ago) when Chris Okeefe was at the desk talking about a story and when Pete went to read the next intro he began coughing and Chris had to take over. It was only for that one introduction though. I don’t have the video.
That must be what I’m thinking of. It certainly wasn’t bulletin-ending for Pete.
Roger took ill immediately before the bulletin. Seven had to delay it a few minutes while he received attention and Cameron, then Seven’s sport presenter, stepped in to read the entire bulletin.
Is 100% footy definitely not on tonight? Because it just reappeared in the EPG.
Russia hacking Nine because of a program on Putin would appear to not be the reason, according to the AFR. It appears to be ransomwear.
iam guessing for the week 9news local will be a national edition?
I would say so.
the only down is i would expect that win news would be picking up the ratings this week as it would be the only local news for the week
All these issue remind me of when some software at BBC News broke, there was a few hours of chaos on BBC News Channel and BBC World News, whilst BBC One bulletins ended up coming from Westminster.
So we are back to the cause being someone opening a file from an email they shouldn’t have rather then it being some kind of sophisticated attack from a hostile group
If it is Medusa it isn’t exactly new either
Might even be national until 30th June 2021 at this rate.
yeah, I doubt that very much. once everything in Sydney is fixed. it will go back to being state wide rather than national
Did Nine have a late bulletin last night?
No Nine News Late.
