Just back up on the point about Premiere being Nine’s news edit program… that’s wrong. Not as the primary software at least.
Premiere is taking over market share from Avid, especially with its far easier UI and integration with modern file formats… but, for now, no network uses it as the primary edit software.

It’s 2021. Most people my age and below I know don’t have the component to watch linear television connected.

I find it interesting that the cyber attack hasn’t made it on Seven News. I’m watching Sunrise now and during the 7am bulletin the item wasn’t shown at all. It’s important news, it should be shown.
In regards to the longer than normal closer, I would prefer they show as much actual news content as possible. Therefore a 10 to 20 second closer is more appropriate.

Yeah, it’s bizarre. I know it’s competition but it’s still very much newsworthy and important. Especially when overseas media outlets are talking about it you would think 7 would mention it at least.

They’re probably laying low and checking all their stuff out to make sure they can’t suffer a similar fate… would be a terrible look sticking the boot in and then going down the same way not long afterwards.

It would be a good wake up call to the world’s media to reassess their system security.

Why exactly would they cover it?
Have you used OBS before? It’s originally meant for streaming and screen recording but you can add a VLC Media Link as a source.
Because it’s news that’s happening… I understand why they wouldn’t but I would also understand why they would.

I use both. I still prefer AVID. Though I find it relies too heavily on expensive hardware to really make it fly.
Premiere is great for home/light use but it’s still not there in terms of reliability imho.
Still love that there’s competition in the market. It needs it badly.

Sounds like some millennials need their own business continuity plan if they really want to watch MAFS!
Not hard to have at least one TV in the house connected to an antenna for moments like this. I upgraded my TV antenna despite not using it much these days and sure enough I had an NBN outage for a week one time and having a reliable TV antenna certainly paid for it self that week!

I don’t have an antenna. I see the investment as pointless.
Though, I also don’t waste my time on MAFS, so I’m unaffected.

$65 from Academy TV, installed myself and as I said it paid for itself when I had an NBN outage! Also AFL Grand Final is not streamed anywhere that I could find over the last few years, no choice but to use an antenna for that.

Also if you are in a rental it can be problematic. The place I am at atm I think when they installed the NBN they used the TV aerial sockets and there is a condition in the lease to say it is at my expense to get that fixed. Which it is not, it’s the landlord’s. I just brought an external antenna even though the reception is average, especially for Channel Nine.

Most of the TRT is spoken for with packages, it’s really just live presentation that’s the X factor, especially with weather. It might be the case that the rundown was purposefully padded to allow breathing room for the novel situation or talent ran a little fast. I suspect GTV don’t stack kicker RVOs on principle, they run a tight, curt ship.
