Other states have to endure late night replays.

NRL states getting it in SD while AFL states get it in HD on the main channel. Nine News Perth will air during the innings break

Perfect opportunity for those in NSW/QLD to watch via 9now using the Melbourne, Adelaide or Perth feeds.

Presuming that Nine even has the online rights to stream the cricket, of course.

True.

You’d like to think - as this was a recent broadcast deal- Nine has 9now in mind when securing any future rights. Foxtel certainly does for Foxtel Go/Play

Had anyone in QLD watched the QRL games on 9/WIN HD this year? I’ve been working Sundays so haven’t been able to watch. Are they full HD or upconverted SD?

WATCH THE AUSSIES TAKE ON THE WORLD IN THE ICC WORLD TWENTY20

LIVE and FREE on the Nine Network beginning this Friday

The Nine Network will bring cricket fans all the explosive action of the ICC World Twenty20 from India with its broadcast – LIVE and FREE – of every Australian match, as well as the semi-finals and final, from this Friday, March 18, at 8.00pm AEDT.

Cricket legends Mark Taylor, Ian Healy, Michael Hussey and Michael Clarke will provide expert commentary and analysis throughout the international championship of Twenty20 cricket.

^ At least most of the games are on Nine. There was a period where they were scheduling some sporting events on GEM even though there would have been no conflict on Nine. Maybe Nine were scheduling sport on GEM specifically to give viewers HD (I doubt it)

This means we might see The Ashes in England in 2019 on Nine instead of GEM.

Nine using the main channel for cricket to give the maximum coverage and HD. The matches against NZ and Pakistan are on 9Gem in NRL states. For AFL states, it’s on the main channel. Nine News Perth will be shown during the innings break on 18 and 25 March.

Just a heads up, Bangladesh is the qualifier in Australia’s group.

Interesting that Ian Healy has been given the hosting role tonight…

Don’t know why Nine hasn’t switched their main channel in Sydney and Brisbane to cricket. There looks to be about 30 minutes of post-match filler happening now followed by yet another story on Jarryd Hayne and then some movie.

They could have easily had the first inning on Gem & the second inning (where Australia is batting) on Nine. Heck the innings break meant they would have still been able to have a short post-game for FNF before going to the cricket

Cricket Australia today announced the international fixture for the 2016-17 season. Australia will play three tests each against South Africa (Hobart will host a test between the two teams for the first time) and Pakistan (including the first-ever day/night test at The Gabba). The Adelaide test against South Africa may or may not be a day/night test as Proteas players are reluctant to play with a pink ball, but CA will continue to push for it. A three-match ODI series against NZ will be held between the SA and Pakistan test series, while Australia will host another five-match ODI series against Pakistan in January and a three-match Twenty20 series against Sri Lanka in February. You can see the fixture here
The first test against South Africa starts on November 3, the same day as Oaks Day of Melbourne Cup carnival (Seven won’t be happy about it as it means viewers will be watching cricket than horse racing and fashion). But for the first time in a decade, there will be no international cricket on the same nights as Australian Open women’s singles final (January 28, 2017) nor men’s singles final (January 29).

The ANZAC Day clash will be shown on the main channel across Australia.

Edit: should have said Seven will be happy with that decision

Although they’ll probably do the same thing with AFL
