Nine Sports Broadcasting

Good to see the schedule out for Nine’s coverage of the NBL. Good to see a return of primetime matches. I like the idea of most FTA games being back-to-back games.

Wonder if the games will be on 9Gem or 9Go.

The two September games may cross paths in Perth with NRL Finals

I saw that they had the NRL telestrator desk too poolside.

Was it just WIN, or did Nine just crash into commercials unexpectedly? I think we just missed the first race.

It’s strange how Seven, Nine and Titmus and her management are allowing her to prominently appear on Nine (as she had been for wwos) but also soon for Seven (Commonwealth Games).

Viewers are the better for it and it is nice to see, but a little odd none the less.

I presume Nine don’t have enough money to lock her in on a network contract, especially given they have been cutting costs. Doesn’t make sense to have someone permanently on the books when they are only used for a week or two of swimming while cutting costs.

Nine seemed ok.

2026 GOLD COAST MARATHON

SUNDAY, JULY 5, EXCLUSIVELY ON 9GEM & 9NOW

The 2026 Gold Coast Marathon, Australia’s premier road race, will hit the TV screens on Sunday, July 5, exclusively from 6.00am on 9Gem and 9Now.

Famed for its scenic route hugging the glistening Gold Coast beachfront, this year’s Marathon will be another memorable celebration of endurance and personal triumph.

Everyday Aussies aiming for personal bests will join an elite lineup of international athletes. Bringing all the action to life is former track and field Olympian and commentator Dave Culbert, and decorated marathon runner and four-time Olympian Steve Moneghetti.

With a record field of nearly 43,000 runners entered for the 42km lung-buster, this year’s Marathon reaffirms its status as Queensland’s most valuable mass-participation event, driving big tourism numbers for the state.

International participation is at an all-time high, almost 4,200 athletes including large groups from Singapore, Japan, New Zealand and Indonesia. And highlighting the Marathon’s national appeal, more than 81% of participants are coming from outside the Gold Coast.

Events Management Queensland CEO, Ben Mannion said they were excited to host another record field for the 46th running of this iconic event.

“The ASICS Gold Coast Marathon is not only an increasingly popular fixture on the Australian running calendar, it is becoming a goal for many international runners to head ‘down-under’ to experience the event and all the Gold Coast and Queensland have to offer. We are delighted that those who can’t join us this year will also be able to enjoy all the action with the broadcast on 9Gem and 9Now.”

Managing Director of Nine Queensland, NBN and Darwin, Kylie Blucher, said: “The Gold Coast Marathon stands proudly as one of the great marathon’s on the world stage, and rightly belongs on Nine, Australia’s home of sport. We look forward to cheering on our elite athletes and celebrating the vibrant community that defines both the Gold Coast and this exceptional event.”

Get ready and get set to lace up for the Gold Coast Marathon on Sunday, July 5, from 6.00am, exclusively on 9Gem and 9Now.
