Ten wasn’t exclusive with punters tuning into racing.com on their Foxtel boxes to watch coverage instead of the main channel coverage.

Racing.com hasn’t been blocked from showing the Melbourne Cup Carnival. It’s just their coverage can’t air on Foxtel and Kayo - very likely in order to protect Sky Racing given TAB being the primary rightsholder.
It also can’t air on 7Plus for obvious reasons.

2025 is the 24th year Gravity Media produces host broadcast coverage of the Melbourne Cup Carnival for the Victoria Racing Club, and the second year for Nine.

Nine’s coverage has been alright, I feel it is superior to 10’s or maybe on par with their first year in 2019/pre-COVID.
James Bracey is very good, as usual.
Francesca Cumani always adds to the coverage, think this is her 17th year in a row (across three networks), although might’ve missed one or two due to COVID.

Didn’t place a bet on the Melbourne Cup, but I barracked for River of Stars. Had I have bet on that horse, I would’ve lost out big time lol.
So yeah, you won’t see me placing a bet on the races! 
Was good to see Eddie on TV hosting it… Don’t see him much on TV anymore (at least in NSW/QLD) since Hot Seat got the axe.

Either they don’t have free on air TV or they don’t watch it
Eddie McGuire has done a sterling job as main host and is still a real asset to the network. The on-screen graphics during the races are disappointing though, much harder to read than 7/racing.com/Sky.

True but 7 broadcasts horse racing coverage every single Saturday now which can obviously lead to confusion amongst casual viewers.
